Dario Argento & The Tombstones of Oak Beach

Sep 07, 2008 13:10

Happy Birthday to director Dario Argento, who turns 68 years old today.

A recent news story made me think back to Argento's film Inferno. The film has a scene where something unpleasant is found under water. Last month a father and son were fishing at Oak Beach in NY. The son noticed something that frightened him. There was a gravestone in the water of Great South Bay. He pointed it out to his father.

The father and son team then began to notice that there were multiple tombstones strewn through the water. There are more than 800 tombstones dumped in the water of Great South Bay.

Visit Oak Beach to find out why there are gravestones in the water and where they came from.
