Made of Fail
Well, I knew there was a reason I didn't want to get out of bed this morning.
About 3:20, someone comes by saying that the civil sirens are on, and just moments later my boss calls and says for me to make the PA announcement that the cit of Columbia has issued a tornado warning and we need people to evacuate to the collonade and the hallway on the ground floor away from the windows.
Blech. First the warning is to 3:45, then to 4, and then to 4:15, and then maybe to 5, and we can't find Jim Cogswell (the Director) to make a decision on whether or not to let people go back to their offices/ their business. Finally got him at nearly 4:30, had to scribble my hand off to keep up with the announcement he wanted me to make, and then made the announcement.
For the record, I absolutely loathe public speaking, and having to make announcements makes my skin crawl.
And we're still under a severe weather alert.
So not worth chewing through the straps, this morning.
