Hooo-yeah!
While I may not have been able to get smashed last night I did manage to get some high quality geekage in today. Me and a couple friends got together and played some fairly old school games all day. We started off with a starcraft comp stomp, where I started to get back into the rhythm of my Carrier rush. Then we switched it up and played some AvP2. Their tiny guns couldn't hold a candle to my Alien Runner, and their bitching soon caused us to switch games yet again. Forunately we ended up on the original Unreal Tournament. Man what a frag fest that game is. We played on the 'Morpheous' map, with the fatboy and insta gib mutators on. For those of you that have never had the pleasure of playing, the Morpheous map takes place on the top of a skyscaper, so high that gravity is weakend to something of that akin to the moon. This low gravity combine with the four precarious towers leads to some intense moments. Since that isn't always intense enough I added the insta gib mod, which gives every player a ultra powerful, but fairly slow, gun. You can die in one hit, but if you both miss each other there are some VERY instense moments and both your guns recharge and you try it again. Just for fun we used the fatboy mutator as well, the more people you kill the fatter you become, conversely if you're contantly being bested you start losing weight faster than Jared Fogle. After a good two hours of that intense action (I mean really, I was actually SWEATING, there is no break in that game, always running, shooting, running ahhhh, don't stop, nooo! shoot run blam!)) we went back to good old star craft. With my having "won" the two previous games (I did lose a couple of rounds of UT by one frag however.) we decided enough was enough and it was time for a good old fashion FFA on the classic "The Hunters" map. Thankfully my practice on my carrier rush paid off in spades. I had a half a full group of the hulking beasts and proceeded to take out my Terran friend's expansion base. Unfortunately for him, he had decided to mass siege tanks. Heh.
As it turns out, my other friend was a protoss as well and went for the big carrier push. Thankfully I had the presence of mind to upgrade my armor and was able to take out his actually larger army with minimal casualties. After wreakin havoc on his main base I turned my attention back to the Terran scum. By this time he had built a platoon of missle defense turrets. Silly rabbit. Two reavers and a couple zealots later he was toast. Unfortunately I had let a single probe escape from my attack on the enemy protoss base and he managed to build back up to carriers once again. Thankfully I had continued to build and research and even his new paltry army and hundreds of photon cannons stood little chance against my might.
Hmm.... I kinda went off there.... oh well. I guess if you don't like computer games you tuned out long ago, but all in all, it was a very good day. I think we may go at it tomorrow as well, seeing as it's my last day off, untill I go back to the near slavery of my work. Crazy 12 hour shifts.
I'm going to attempt to read again now, last night I read a few sections of a chapter and managed to fall asleep with the book in my hand and my light on. Yeah. Fun stuff.
Anyhoo night.
PS - I'm looking to upgrade my computer and I've started out looking a cases for this uber rig.
