the guy raising wasn't that good. i didn't know too much about the guy who cold called after. the guy utg was a decent player, but liked to mix his play by sometimes limping and calling raises with weaker hands pf and then playing more TA post flop.

right after i had hit the call button, i had the feeling that it was a mistake.
it went through my head that my stack was small enough that i was going to be committing myself to going all-in on the flop in any case whether i hit an A or Q or not, and if that was the case, i should have just pushed before because the hand would have been better against one player as opposed to four, and based on previous behavior i knew that at least the guy immediately after me was going to call if i didn't raise.

the original raiser would have definitely called if i raised all in i think, which would have still made me lose because he hit his flush, but the 44 would probably have folded. the end result would have still been i lost, but i think my play would have been more correct.

i'm trying to remember what my thought process was *before* i hit call that made me call instead of raise as i was debating in my head. it might have been that i was thinking not situationally. With a larger stack, i would have more likely called in that situation because it would have been easier for me to throw the hand away if i didn't hit considering my bad position (both relative *and* absolute), and i didn't want to raise fearing a reraise after me maybe? i don't know.

there's more i think i wanted to add, but i'm zoning out. time for bed.

Calling with a deeper stack is certainly reasonable, but since you are out of position and against a raise and a call, I think raising is still a reasonable option, especially against weaker players. If you just call, it's going to be difficult to play AQ against 3+ players when you are deep.
