Just another somethin' somethin'

Here it goes. I wrote this bitch while listening to Hello by Evanescence. Enjoy.

Twelve seventeen at night
The snow is falling from above
Curtains, drawn back
A whiskey made with love

The fireplace is crackling
The holy bible off to the side
Flames flicker darting shadows
In the the light's tide

A single tear falls
Logs burning away
He sits in her favourite chair
As she did the other day

Empty, silent halls
Large paintings with large eyes
Another memory washes away
Another happiness dies

Softly spoken ice cubes
Clatter inside the whiskey glass
Loose fingers around the drink
As the moments pass

The fire begins to grow
The fingers of satan raise high
The walls catch aflame
He only asks himself why

Ancient books burn
Flaming curtains fall without a sound
He does not get up
With his wife six feet under ground
