A whisper of a name across my mind as I sleep.
Alfons...
Your voice sounds... odd as you say my name. Not quite as it should, tinted with some strange accent. But then I see him lying next to you, and not me. Him in your arms, and not me. I whimper softly in my sleep, clutching the blankets tighter to my chest. It's not my name...
I love you.
My eyes ease open, tears already flowing out as I blink heavily. Hot across my cheeks, only making me feel lonelier without you to wipe them away and comfort me.
“I love you too, Brother...” I whisper, hoping it might just drift through your thoughts, as your words drift through mine.
