What is PR?
1) PR isnt all that glitz and glam you see on TV (See Sam Jones on SATC)
2) PR isnt just having good people skills (which job doesnt?)
3) PR isnt marketing although theres some similarity
I hate it when recruiters call me up and asking if i'm interested in being a financial planner and when told i'm looking for PR jobs, they say "oh this also needs PR, you need to interact with people"
PR is probably one of the most misunderstood "profession", largely due to the loose use of the term. It is also quite easy to get into the PR industry withour prior training where many organisations hire people with marketing background.
