X spoilers!
Especially Kamui & Fuuma, this question's been haunting me for a long time! After quite a while, I finally accepted them as a sort of couple or twisted romance (depending on if Fuuma was himself or as /Kamui/) but at first I didn't see it that way because I only support canon pairings.
Seeing Clamp's artwork of them & re-visited certain

While I'm a mere fan and obviously don't necessarily know CLAMP on a personal level to know what they'd intend for sure, I do have speculations of my own, but I do think that a lot of yuri/yaoi pairings in X/1999 are canon. At least, I see it that way. CLAMP, most often, is vague when it comes to pairings. Touya and Yukito from CCS, for example- they probably don't necessarily say "I love you" so blatantly (though, keeping in mind that different scanlations / translations phrase it differently), but Yukito does imply that Touya is his most precious person. And by that, I'd personally safely assume that he does love Touya.
Same goes with Fuuma and Kamui. That, and I think CLAMP has admitted that they are canon- while I don't have any sort of concrete evidence to prove this, I remember having read an interview of CLAMP somewhere in which they said that Fuuma has become the only one that Kamui is closest to (after Kotori dies), and so therefore it's only inevitable that Kamui would think of Fuuma more than just a friend/brother. Though even without the interview, just the way that Fuuma and Kamui behave toward each other is somewhat obvious to me that they really are a canon pairing. This doesn't really look like friendship to me...
Kamui's and Fuuma's mothers are also canon. ^_^ Even Fuuma's dad knows that his wife has someone that she loves more than him, and she doesn't deny it. I'm not so sure about Kanoe, though.
Anyway, that's just what I think about it. I don't mean to give an argument of course, and I definitely respect your perspective if it may differ from mine, but I only mean to express how I see it, as another X/1999 and CLAMP fan. ^_^

I read this interview & other people have used this as evidence to prove they're canon, whether Clamp meant this, I'm not sure.
And that pic isn't nice... really. Well I like it. XD
