car stuff
Since my car is probabaly what i spent of my construstive time on, or in, it's probabaly worth an update.
Never did end up saying, but i did win my case against the lorry driver that pretty much drove into me. I got my full no claims discount and my excess back in full. Took somewhere around 12 onths in total i believe to sort out, but was worth the effort in the end. After that i think i'm more than happy to be accident free for many years to come, more trouble than it's worth having a crash.
The current car (still the same one i got 2 1/2 years ago) has undergone more changes in this time. Somewhere around May last year i got it's engine remapped for abit more 'go'. Should be running around 120bhp/210ft-lb after that work. At some other point last year i also fitted a map reading interior light, got an Irmscher front grille and smoked facelift headlights fitted, sometime during the summer i believe. I also decided the handling needed some attention, so earlier this year i got some Spax RSX coilovers fitted. Fully adjustable height/dampening and have been a nice improvement in the corners :)
In the past few weeks i've done probbaly my last changes to the car. I had a full leather interior fitted and then change my standard wheels for gloss black wheels of the same design. The only things left to do are to wire up the heated front seats and to (maybe) get an Irmscher lower front spoiler fitted. Not too sure if that last one will happen but if one come up for a good price i may pick it up.
Probabaly spent a good bit of money on it fitting all that lot, but it's been a good runner so far. I plan on keeping it another good few years, as i mainly have little reason to change it. It's fully loaded with kit, enough to put a good number of BMWs or Mercs to shame and it's never let me down, even though it's on (nearly) 72k miles now.
Plus i love the fact the engine produces 210ft-lb and gets 60-62mpg - who needs a Prius eh? ;)
And 'cause i've never posted one before, here a pic of it. Looks mostly the same as this now, except the wheels are now black and not silver.
