Wow, I still have a livejournal. Chuckle chuckle.

I haven't posted in freaking forever.
So here's an update on life.

1) I'm at NCState right now, majoring in Communication-Media. I miss music, but intend to use it with that degree perhaps in a masters or just in life somehow. It's a step out of the box, good for me and reallllllly good for my sister and I. She and I are going to be in the core COM classes together. I see her everyday. We're getting along so much better. Only shitty thing? I'm pretty much a freshman again because of the lack of credits lol.

2) I have a job at Caribou Coffee off Duraliegh Rd in the Olde Raleigh Shopping Center. It's my first "real" job, and I freaking love it. My coworkers are great and I look foward to work so I can hang with them. I really enjoy making coffee and seeing the regulars like Kelly, Gary, and Alexander. It is literally right across the street too. Tips are enough to go out to eat at like Quiznos or something, and I enjoy making money.

3) Chris and I are doing well. Living here has helped. Sometimes, the fact that he and I are so different does tend to get in the way. I feel like I take a couple steps foward, and then one back, and then some foward, etc. with him. But he is so patient and so loving. And the jealous tick that I developped from the past does exist but gets muted and is ebbing away through him. He is amazing. He's not everything, he's not perfect, and sometimes we get annoyed at each other or we don't get to see each other much. But I love him, and I'm happy with it all. I'm content to continue growing.

4) I am now 20 years old, and I feel the same lol. No really, it's cool to have the first digit in my age change. I'm ready for it, and excited about this next decade. Not at how fast the months are passing by and the fact that October is about to be half done already lol, but about changes and a new phase of life. I've finished puberty, I've finished the teens, I've finished the really hard part of growing and schooling, and I'm facing foward. By the time the first digit changes again and 10 years have gone by, I will probably be married, have at least one child to raise, be out of school with perhaps a bachelors AND a masters degree :). Perhaps I'll be settled into a faith that I've cultivated through deep searching; I will probably also find a way to make music a cornerstone in my life. I'll be eating healthy and excercising as if it has always been my lifestyle, and travel won't seem too difficult. I'm really excited.

5) My birthday was awesome--my sister planned a surprise party for me. So many awesome people were there... it was great to see Phil again, my Brevardians were there, my sis and her man (whom I adore), my man, some friends, and Cathy (my first friend ever). And I got some really sweet gifts. New music, new books, new decorations, yay. One of the books is about God's presence in your life. It is written by someone who wrote a book that was recommended to me only two days before (Purpose Driven Life). And as a cue, I've decided I need to delve into a realm that frightens me.
I've had an empty spot for a while that always tends to draw me inward and make my outward life more difficult. Chris can't fill it, life in the city makes it worse lol (I felt closer to God in the mountains, really), family can't fill it. And I think maybe it's something that faith can fill. Not necessarily in "God" as the "father of Jesus Christ" God, but something. So I'm starting a journal to meditate and brainstorm about spirituality/theology/etc things. I'm really excited about that. I'm also going to try and pray more. Which I'm actually excited about. I really think that something is there... and I want that something to be able to reach me and for me to reach it. So it's time to synthesize all my thoughts, clear up the slate that I've been working on, reread some books I've had for a while, and get to some that I've had but that haven't been read yet because the time wasn't right yet.... time to start seeing and thinking actively. Yay.

So that's life so far.. it's fast day-to-day. It's school and work and Chris and errands and tasks and sometimes chilling or relaxing with friends. It's too fast. So it's time to look at things and chill out! But to keep moving too.
Hopefully everyone is doing well.. maybe I'll try and keep up with this again? Who knows. Or perhaps it's something that I've grown out of. I started journal-keeping in 9th grade... the first time ever that I was able to actually keep a journal, no matter how many times I tried as a girl. And I kept a blog going from 10th until last year. Although, last year not so much. I went back to spiral notebooks freshman year in college... and still keep up with those, I'm on my fourth since then. But I haven't had much to say recently. And I think that's a good thing--they were mostly venting or trying to figure out what to do with my life. News flash---I've got TIME. Really, I do. It's all relative anyway.

BUT, things to do. So, have a great night, and go life.
