(An FYF short essay about relationships)

Let's just say to begin with that people connecting with other people is very important. Me personally, I am very emotional and I am very aware of the people in my life, sometimes giving myself to them or my time to them more than I am to my own self. Family is very key in life because they are just that; your kin, your clan, your blood. They brought you into this world, brought you up and raised you, you alongside your siblings or the elders and wise(wo)men of the group. And you learn a lot when you are growing up.. about how to handle yourself, how to carry yourself, how to handle others, how to carry others. You learn the fundamentals and the unspokens of society and life. Roommates, according to the list that will be addressed today, they are important. Normally with a good college, you will be paired with a like-minded soul, and therefore you are already connected to them in that sense. But at the same time, they can be a completely different person from you, and you learn much from them. You also learn how to live with another person.. to work together to share your space, share your time, share yourself, share your possessions. You learn how they work and and you work, and how you both work together. And the people that they surround themselves with can soon become friends of your own. Dating, next on the list (out of order lol...), dating is big. Dating is showing that you have some other kind of love within you.. a love that you are willing to give and share, and that you are not only pulling everything of yours together, but making it ready to give to another. Dating is part of connecting with someone, or many someones, in a close and intimate way. Very key relationship. It's important to know your limits within love, to know how far you will go, and to know how far you can fall. And when you can go through the whole cycle and arise alive and well again, you are the wiser and better for it. Through my experience, it is also the most taxing and draining type of relationship you can have. It is dangerous to extend yourself so, and to almost try to merge with another soul. But rewarding. I notice that "friends" do not appear on the list, however they are also key in our lives because without them, many of the holes we have lost ourselves into would have consumed us. They help to shape our being, our person. They help to keep us smiling and alive. They help to give us a sounding board for the day, or for our opinions and passions. They are also important as well, no doubt.
