I finished Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett today. IT. WAS. AWESOME. The vampires were amazing, and Granny Weatherwax's plan to take them down was something I never saw coming. I don't know if Carpe Jugulum would be in the vampire section, necessarily, because it's part of the Discworld Series (which deals with everything from Death to dragons to witchs and wizards to Christmas parodies, ect). The series doesn't have to be read in order, though; I read The Hogfather and understood it just fine even though I didn't read Soul Music which comes before it. As far as I'm aware, the only two books that have to be read in order are The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic, and that's because The Light Fantastic picks up where The Color Of Magic left off.
We do, but I only just started watching it recently and I got my brother into it so we've got a lot to catch up on.
