Finished Carpe Jugulum

I finished Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett today. IT. WAS. AWESOME. The vampires were amazing, and Granny Weatherwax's plan to take them down was something I never saw coming. Agnes Nitt was one of my favorite new characters, along with Vlad. Although, if I didn't know better, I would say that the whole Vlad/Agnes relationship was a parody of ( Read more... )

Oh, that's right, it was. My bad. Doesn't it have something to do with Bella having a "private mind" or something? (That makes no sense!) I'm personally of the opinion that Edward can't read Bella's thoughts because she doesn't have any. ;) Meh. Maybe I'll read them at some point, but if I did I'd have to read them for the lulz instead of seriously because when I read Twilight as a serious novel, I was filled with raaaaaaaageee... On the other hand, I read part of New Moon to my brother and friend in Barnes and Noble once and couldn't stop laughing...hm.

I don't know if Carpe Jugulum would be in the vampire section, necessarily, because it's part of the Discworld Series (which deals with everything from Death to dragons to witchs and wizards to Christmas parodies, ect). The series doesn't have to be read in order, though; I read The Hogfather and understood it just fine even though I didn't read Soul Music which comes before it. As far as I'm aware, the only two books that have to be read in order are The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic, and that's because The Light Fantastic picks up where The Color Of Magic left off.

We do, but I only just started watching it recently and I got my brother into it so we've got a lot to catch up on.
