Watchmen...

I'M SICK OF ALL THE PEOPLE ALL OF A SUDDEN (the past couple months to weeks) FREAKING OUT about Watchmen. When I first saw the preview I KNEW WHAT IT WAS RIGHT WHEN I SAW ARCHIE and no one... NO ONE was freaking out about it. I looked like an idiot in the theater

The change in the ending was good, IMHO. It was a minor thing that still got the job done. The thing they changed would only look silly in light of other recent movies. I didn't mind.

My only beef woth the movie was that I left the movie feeling a couple characters had endearing qualities. When I read the book, I hated EVERYONE.

Otherwise, it was very faithful to the source, truly. It's worth going to see it.

I don't think people who did not read the book will get as much out of it. Take the story from its source and it only makes a "meh" movie. Not a blockbuster except to those it has sentimental value to.

Yeah, honestly it's the reviews I've read from both tristencitrine and neumaverick that make me WANT TO SEE the movie... but I'm just annoyed with stuff going on around me.

My fiance is being dragged to a midnight showing because everyone he works with wants to see it. When I'm around them, all I hear (my fiance excluded, he actually agrees with me on a lot of this, and since he hasn't read Watchmen yet, he's just going because he's honestly being forced to) "DUDE this movie looks SWEET", "It's gonna be EPIC! Just look at the CGI" and so on... THAT'S why I'm all pissy...

Like I said, when I do see it, I know I'LL like it... but all the fanboys and stuff have gotten to me.

Char, you're lucky to have seen it already :P I'm also not going to opening weekend because I don't like dealing with full theaters with collage boys...

It must be great for the graphic novel sales though.

I heard about watchmen last year, like beginning of last year, and I was excited about it, not for the story though. The movie itself looks fucking amazing. My roommates also got all pumped about it because they knew it before. We are going to see it in imax this saturday. My friend actually lent me the graphic novel so I could read it before the movie, I doubt I'll finish it before saturday, but I like it so far.

You know the same thing happened to me with repo. I heard about it months before it was released, and was all 'OOOOOOOH THIS LOOKS AWESOME!'. No one else was interested until after it came out and I was like 'WHERE WERE YOU AT THAT SOLD OUT SHOW???'

Yeah...

Same thing happened around me too... but at least it's good for Repo... Watchmen, I'm happy it's also getting the hype because they said it could never be done and here it is.

And yeah, it does LOOK aaaammmaaaaazzzzziiinnnngggg...
