Mr. Nash's funeral was today.
We drove by it; we were going to yard sales.
So... yeah.  I kind of feel like I should have been there, but whatever.  It's not like I knew the details or anything.
Anyway.  We went to two yard sales 9well, we went to Wal Mart first, but who cares about that?).  The first one wasn't anything special, but the second one?  We drove by it, because we were looking for somewhere to park, and Melina and I didn't want to go because it didn't look like it had anything.  Mom said she was going to go, so we tagged along anyway.  But guess what:  it was run by that guy that came to our yard sale looking for records and talking about punk rock and all that cal (see this post)!  He gave us his card; he's a DJ (but he has no Facebook.  D:  His email address is on there; I'm thinking about emailing him, but I have no idea what I'd say).  Seriously, he's like, the coolest guy ever.  He said he has 22,000 records in his basement!  Mom bought Don McLean's American Pie, and I bought a couple of Lou Reed albums, two Devo 45s ("Secret Agent Man" and "Be Stiff," which is a yellowish clear.  It kind of looks like it would glow in the dark, but it probably dosen't), and two Clash singles ("Groovy Times" and "Hitsville UK"  I actually hate that second song, but I'm betting on the B-side being great.).  He had a David Bowie album, but it was Let's Dance.  *gag*  Rockin' Ron (that's his DJ name) said he's gonna have another yard sale on Saturday with different stuff, so we're going there again.  :D  He was asking Mom and Melina (they were talking to him because I was taking so long to look at the records) what kind of music I listened to (Melina knew, I was so proud of her) and he told them how hard it was to find Iggy Pop records (it's not, really...) and how good it makes him feel to see "young girls who are into vinyl."  He probably thinks I'm like, 15.  D:
Anyway... After that we went to the Salvation Army (Rockin' Ron says he goes up there every other day to check out the record collection), and Mom bought some sweaters and T-shirts (she bought Grandma a "Price is Right" shirt.  It says "COME ON DOWN" on the front of it; it;s hilarious), Melina got some "hippie shirts" and I (shouldn't have) bought a dress by H&M that just barely fits (Hey, it was $5.  I don't know why I keep buying dresses.) and a hideous but wonderfully soft leopard print shirt that I plan on cutting up and putting on my jacket, and a couple of records: Ian Dury's New Boots and Panties!! (titled so because those are the only things he'd buy new, as he was also what we kids call a "thrift whore."  Wikipedia told me so.) and Mink DeVille (the name of the album and the artist).  I've only heard one song by each of them, but they were on my punk box set, so they can't be too bad.
I don't think any of the albums I bought are still being pressed (lucky me).  That kind of makes me not want to play them.  But what would be the point in that?  (45s suck pretty much, anyway.  But not nearly as much as 78s.)  I mean, I don't actually collect records, I play them.
Hm... what else is new?  Oh, I made some Tiger Fudge last night (it doesn't really count as fudge, but don't tell anyone).  Well, Melina helped, but it was my idea.  It's pretty awesome.  Melina likes it, even though she insists the only peanut butter she likes is in Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (but she lies).  Mom only had a little bit because "It's too high calorie."  But it's not like she's been losing any more weight with her low calorie diet, because she never exercises (and it'd probably help if she didn't eat preprocessed 100 calorie "cakes").  But whatever, more for us.
And... yeah.  I think that's it.  Larson and Laura, I'll try to write your emails/letters/whatever you call them sometime this week.  I still lack ambition.
