Round 2: Beta Requests/Beta Volunteers

Feb 24, 2012 12:11

If you know that you're going to need a Beta for your fic, you can use this post to ask for one. Also, if you're interested in being a Beta for someone else, you can use this post to volunteer.

There are no hard and fast rules about what information you give on this post, since it's impossible to know where in the writing process everyone is. But there are a few things that should be included, at the very least. Email addresses aren't necessary; replies to your post will start the "match-up" process, and you can take it from there using the PM system.

Writers should give the genre (slash, gen, femmeslash, het, etc) and pairing you're writing/planning to write, and a rating (G - NC17) - if you know them. If you know what kind of Beta you're looking for (grammar and punctuation, spelling, canon compliance, etc), you should probably indicate that, as well.

Betas should say which genre(s) they're willing to read, which pairings they prefer, and which ratings they are comfortable with. Also list your strengths and areas of Beta interest (grammar and punctuation, spelling, canon compliance, etc) so that everyone will know what you can do. Betas do not need to sign up for the challenge itself unless you want to write a fic of your own.

Sound good? :D
