"Shit," Danny cursed as Zoe pulled the leash out of his hand."Reviens ici, gosse!"
Zoe ignored him and pounced on the small French bulldog puppy that was walking across in front of her. The puppy let out a small yip, but otherwise seemed unconcerned that a strange dog was basically pinning it to the ground and cleaning it's fur.
"Zoe," Danny repeated loudly as he finally caught up to her amd noticed another guy standing next to the dogs, looking bemused. "Désolé!
"Sorry," he repeated in English as he finally grabbed a hold of Zoe's leash and managed to pull her off the puppy. "Zoe's usually not this bad, she just must the boys or something."
"C'est bien," the guy assured him in French; he grinned when Danny looked at him in surprise. Philadelphia wasn't the last place Danny would have picked to hear his native tongue, but it wouldn't have been the first, either. "Greta seems fine, so there's no harm done ( ... )

It had taken centuries for Aries to get used to living a mortal life -being born, living so briefly, then dying only to be reborn all over again with all his memories intact. During the beginning, Aries often thought that whoever replaced him and his brethren were more vicious than they ever were.
He had blamed those Roman pigs -swarming everything and one, consuming like locusts without a care or thought for the future- for far longer than was warranted. But Rome had fallen not long after Greece did and eventually Aries had realized that it was always going to be that way, empires rising and falling at the will of humans. The gods may be all powerful but they ruled at the whims of mortals and it would always be thus ( ... )
