So, candy_belle bribed me with this picspam to write a bar!AU with our favorite Blackhawks. Because I have no willpower and am susceptible to both picspams and AUs, I agreed.
While I work on it, I thought I'd do a mini picspam of the pics that inspired this AU:
Ok, so instead of playing hockey, the boys work/own a sports bar in Chicago:
Duncs and Seabs own the bar, it's called Keithbrook's, which is just their last names smashed together because they couldn't agree on anything else at all.
They tend bar usually, arguing with each other and running a betting pool about when Jonny and Pat are going to get their shit together and start banging. All the regulars, plus the other employees are in on it.
Pat does a little bit of everything, waiter, busboy, tending bar and helping out in the kitchen. He's friendly and exuberant with everyone and he's banned from tequila after the Cinco De Mayo Incident That Shall Not Be Named. He also has a giant hard on for Jonny that everyone but Jonny knows about.
Jonny and Shawzy are bouncers there; poor Jonny just wants to do his job and stop the few fights that happen, but Shawzy is always starting them against guys twice his size and then Jonny has to wade in and save his ass and they're always getting bruised and needing stitches and shit. And Sharpy is always egging him on like an asshole. And Jonny's life, so hard.
Sharpy doesn't work there, but he's at the bar every night until closing anyways and at first Jonny hated him because besides inciting Shawzy into riots and brawls, he's always teasing Pat and kind of, sorta flirting with him and it makes Jonny see red and he refuses to be nice to him on principle for the longest time. He thought they were dating and Jonny's never dealt well with unrequited anything, it makes him pissy- well, pissier than normal at least, and he just. Pat had never even seemed to want guys until he started flirting with Sharpy (who, as much as Jonny hated to admit it, was a charming bastard and had good hair, besides) and when Jonny finally yells this at Pat during work, Pat laughs in his face for ten minutes before dragging him into the bathroom and blowing him. Seabs starts chirping them as soon as they step back into the bar and Duncs is collecting money from everyone, but well. Getting what he wants makes Jonny indulgent and he can't even bring himself to make a token protest.
Crow's the cook and he pretty much knows everything that goes on in the bar, up to and including the fact that Jonny and Pat want to fuck each other stupid. He also picks up more than everyone else who works there combined, a fact which drives Shawzy fucken crazy because he hasn't gotten laid in forever and it's not right that Crow is getting laid on the regular. Crow finally has enough of the complaining one night and drags Shawzy back to his place and fucks him into the mattress. The next night, Jonny is so grateful for the fact that Shawzy's in too good of a mood to start shit for once that he buys all of Crow's drinks that night once the kitchen closes at 11.
