Don't know if anyone on here reads Anne McCaffery, but I just found this awesome Sherlock/Dragonriders of Pern fusion; John/Sherlock (of course), PG-13 and almost no sex but still well worth reading. John and Sherlock are both IC and the world building is fucken phenomenal: Who tries, Does
Almost predictably reading it has made me start picturing a Bandom version of it where P'te is the first male to ever Imprint on a queen and, even worse (in his Weyrleader's eyes, at least), his queen's name is King (because you know whatever the 'verse, Pete just loves fucking with boundaries and gender stereotypes and I imagine his dagon would be the same).
They fall for P'trick (who was a Harper Journeyman before being Chosen) and his brown, Vaughn. Which sends their Weyrleader into a tizzy because Browns do not fly Queens. Only Bronzes do, Brown's fly Greens or Blues, P'te. For the love of Fornath, it's not that hard to remember, shards!
P'trick and Vaughn aren't quite sure, at first, why P'te and King seem so fond of them and why they insist that they're meant to be weyrmates, but they eventually fall in love and when King rises, both P'trick and Vaughn are determined that Vaughn fly her.
In case anyone's curious, Andy is a Blue rider (he refused to change his name when he Imprinted, claiming it was sexless and archaic) who thinks that mating flights are exploitative and refuses to participate in any of them; he also stays away from any kind of meat (but doesn't begrudge his dragon it; after all, dragon's act according to their nature and only eat enough to survive, unlike humans) and has never so much as had a sip of wine, not even Benden wine. J'seph is a Green rider who loves nothing more than a good glass of wine and a willing bedmate. How he became such close friends with Andy is still one of the biggest mysteries of the Weyr.
