Bonfire, Spidey 3, DDR, fishing, etc.

It's been a pretty busy weekend. Friday night Aaron and I went to Rudy's for dinner and then out to the bluffs in Sterling to make a bonfire on the lakeshore and watch the stars come out. It wasn't windy at all, and with the fire it was pretty warm up until about the last half hour we were there. The sunset was really fantastic too, not many clouds on the horizon so we got the full color spectrum.

Aaron got DDR Ultramix 4 for his XBox, so we've been playing that quite a bit this weekend too. It's fun, I think I need to order a pad for myself and maybe one of the other versions for home. That way we can both have a pad to practice with and can also play against each other when we want to.

Yesterday afternoon we went to see Spiderman 3. Surprisingly not as many little kids as I had expected in attendence, mostly college students and people our age. It was a good movie, quite a bit darker than the first two movies in feeling. Didn't quite expect that ending though. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Spiderman 4. After the movie we went to Price Chopper to pick up a couple things, then went back to my house to grill sausages. When we came back here we played with my old fishing pole and proceeded to break it worse than it already apparently was broken, so then we went to Walmart so Aaron could buy a new rod and reel for himself and I'd just use his old pole. Then we started watching a really boring French movie called "Mouchette" and were so bored we went to bed.

This morning we got up semi-early and went out to the breakwall to go fishing. Unfortunately, the fish weren't biting so we relocated to the river, but the fish still weren't biting and it was really cold. We'll jsut have to wait for a nice warm day. Luckly I got the hang of casting, so that was a fruitful part of the morning. In a little while we're going out to Hannibal for Barb Trommer's scrapbook thing at the town hall, and then to my house for dinner and then the Newman Center for church.
