We are back from Italy, and it feels kinda weird to be back in the US. Even in just a week we got really used to the Italian landscape - doesn't help that it was in the upper 60s/low 70s everyday we were there, and here we're having a nor'easter. The downside is that our luggage didn't make it on the plane with us from Newark. We handed our bags to the luggage recheck guy after going through customs, and he looked at our routing tags and said, "Okay, they're both going to Syracuse." But the never made it on the flight. We put in a lost baggaged claim before we left the Syracuse aiport, but no luck yet. Annoying, because all our souvenirs are in our luggage, plus, at least in my case, most of my underwear. We weren't the only ones on our flight that were missing luggage though. Somebody in Newark isn't doing their job. The lady at the baggage claim in Syracuse said it sounded like there were two carts of luggage that should've gone on the flight, but only one cart was loaded.
In any case, Italy was wonderful, we had a great time. We're working on our travel log (in the leather travel book Dave and Sue gave me for Christmas) but have a couple days left to write about. Once we get that done I'll post much of it so you all can hear about our trip. We have some amazing pictures too.
Right now I have a 2-hour delay. Curious to see if it turns into a snow day, and then what shall we do because we have no snow days left, and the only day off that's left is Memorial Day, and that's a national holiday so they can't take that away from us. I wouldn't mind an extra day off, my body is still on Rome time.
