Yesterday evening, as my manager's goodbye party was winding down, I noticed my boss talking animatedly to some lady I hadn't seen around campus. Curious as to what they might be talking about, I wandered over, hoping to get an earful. Or two. Not content to let me listen passively though, my boss, in her heart of hearts, decided to introduce me to the lady for some reason. The conversation just went downhill from there.
Boss: Ah, this is Abilash, one of our student workers.
Lady: It's nice to meet you, Abilash.
'Blash: *smiles* Likewise.
Boss: You know Abilash, she's a counselor at Student Health. Perhaps you should go up and see her sometime. *smirk
'Blash: A counselor? Really? That's fascinating.
'Blash: In a few more years, I'll be a counselor too. A counselor who tells people what to do with their marriages. It'll be fantastic.
Lady: Is that so? Well, I'm not sure how experienced you really would be at that sort of thing.
Boss: Yeah. That is, unless you're married and you haven't told us yet.
'Blash: I AM married.
'Blash: ...Well, to my job anyway. Except that I get paid for it. So really, I'd say it's closer to prostitution.
Lady: ...
Boss: ...
Boss: *facepalm*
Boss: This is why we never let him out of the office. *slinks off*
Ahh. I love my job.
...Here's hoping they decide to let me handle interviews from now on. Oh, the fun I'm going to have.
