It was a bash and we actually did a damned fine job!
It rocked! despite the various messy rehersals and what not, we had a bonzar good time. We trussed the sound and lighting up like a christmas goose, and everything ran smootly. granted no one acknowledged all the hard work, but I like it that way, who wants to get attention anyways? The first play was perfect, except for one sequence when they didn't cue us, and the actor was on stage without anything for over a minute! I took matters into my own hands and played the cue, the next thing I know the director storms up and says "You are so damned lucky that was supposed to happen! You don't do anything without my okay got that!?" I flipped her off....she was being a fracker, I just saved them a major embarasment and they thank me by cursing my name and being prickish. Other than that the show ran smoothly, no other troubles, my crew and I rigged up a special program that we have dubbed a "tech thing", we play it at the end of the show while the bow is going on....just a little sound blasting and light trouble....we're techies, that's what we do. The second show was a pain, we didn't have anything ready, lights were go, but our director didn't have his sound cues set, so we had to do it by guess work. Luckily that only resulted in one mess up, but for that my crew got burned by one of the bitchier actresses....big mistake. I went down there and gunned her out of the sky, all actors are to us techs are bodies that need to be lit up, and I told her just that. She complained about our screw up, and I made my point. "What are you complaining about? You screw up people laugh, we screw up and everyone chops our heads off!" That set her straight, no other problems really, just another hidden program at the end of the show. Very fun, for those of a mind to care about my physical being, I'm exhausted, haven't had anything but a hot chocolate, a cookie, and a fudge bar to eat, plus I had a light fall on me while I was rigging it and have a smashed shoulder.....but I'm good and I'm having fun, now a good morning to you all, it's now 142...I should sleep, just got home.
