I got a gig! Phase III Woodland site outside of Springfield, IL. and for some strange reason, they chose me!
I'm very happy I found an archaeology job. Naturally, I got it about a half hour before I had my final interview for another job, but there you go. The per diem is crap, but I'm still going to net a couple of grand in under 2 months, and that's enough. More importantly, it's an in in the industry.
This is literally my dream job. I am doing what I'm supposed to. And I am happy.
