I'd love to write more about RavenMytho too! And of course more Raven folklore as well. I'd especially love to use the Valravn legend, considering all the transformations and heart-eating that takes place in those stories. It fits beautifully. *_*

Ooh, and I never thought about Rue's reaction to Femio quite like that - I always assumed it was him parading around and claiming to be a prince who loved everyone that so offended her, to see him use Mytho's true identity to serve his own narcissism. But now I think about it, it was also his confidence (and his assertion that he was worthy of the world's love, when she believed that no-one other than the Raven and Mytho would ever love her) that played a huge part in shaping her reaction to him. I think she even says that his confidence and pride are enough to make her hate him. Though I don't think she hated him in any deep or lasting sense; just that she strongly disliked and resented (and you're right, subconsciously envied) him.

Oh wow. I remember reading about the Valravens in the past, when I was researching things about the mythology in those countries. That would definitely make for a dark and fascinating Tutu fic!

**nods.** I don't know what she says in the English dub. In the Japanese she says, "You have an almost blinding pride. It's enough to make me hate you. You're wonderful." And it's the last part that really confused and fascinated me, as if she liked those traits in him as well as hated them.

^___^ I love the discussions too. I'm always wanting to talk about Tutu, but it seems like most of the time, the conversations with people never proceed very far. XD;

(Right now I'm working on a shorter Autor and Ahiru drabble set I've been planning for a while, which focuses this time on their thoughts during the scenes they're actually together in during the show. So far, there's no spoken dialogue. LOL. I may leave it like that as an experiment.)

Yeah, it'd be great to use the Valravn myth at some point. It gives so many ideas, and be great material for a dark fanfic! *_*

Let's see, it's been a while since I watched the series in either English or Japanese (I totally confess to loving the dub, though - it's sooo rare to see an anime dub of that quality!), I think in the English dub, she says, "What splendid confidence. What blinding pride. Enough to make me hate you." And then, in a taunting tone: "You're quite wonderful." It's pretty much the same, but her tone is definitely more dangerous and mocking here. It's so interesting to consider, though!

I feel the same about the discussions! I'm loving them. :D My situation is much the same: I'm still crazy about the series, and would some more indepth conversations about it.

And I know I'm a bit late to the party as far as your new Autor/Duck friendship 'fic goes, but I'm very glad you felt inspired to write it. It was a great idea. ^_^

Ahh, interesting! Yeah, I don't think she sounded taunting in the Japanese.

(I confess that while I think Rue was generally spot-on, I don't care for a lot of the other character interpretations in the dub. XD; Autor in particular; he sounded so much more ... well, snotty, in English.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, because while I agree that some of the voices were off (or inferior to the Japanese VAs), I actually really liked snotty!Autor. Maybe because I really enjoy the first ep in which he plays a big role, and how he's such a jerk. XD

I suppose it's all down to character interpretation, and which traits we (and the VAs and dub director) think are more important to emphasize, but I thought Autor's Dub VA really showed the "intelligence without wisdom" syndrome that Autor initially suffers from, then softened him a lot later with Rue and in the finale, so that his gradual change really came across...but this is a discussion for a whole other topic! We could create pages and pages if we kept chatting about it here, I think. ;)

Akt 21 is my favorite episode, but I never could enjoy watching it in English, LOL. But hey, I'm just happy you agree he was snotty. I've seen some people think he was less that way in English, which I do not understand at all.

That is interesting about how you say he was softened. ^^ I've watched the majority of Autor's scenes in English and I'm not totally sure I picked up on that (though I did in Japanese). I may have to give it another try.

In either version (since dialogue isn't a factor), I'm really intrigued by how sobered he becomes starting with the scene where Ahiru says goodbye to them. You can definitely a visual change in him then, and it's after that when he is dedicated and devoted to his new role and you don't see the bitterness and jealousy any more.

I do agree that he was very snotty, but that's where I thought his charm came from. XD And I believe he softened at certain points later, but there's no need to check out the dubbed episodes if they're not to your taste. We all have our preferences. ^_^

And yeah, you're very right that he starts taking things very seriously after Duck's sacrifice. I mean, he does flip out with panic when he sees everyone turned into crows (and he had many moments of gravity before that too), but then once he hears that Drosselmeyer was there, he goes back into power-mad fanboy mode. It definitely seems to be Duck, and what she has to give up, that forces him to sober completely and realize that this is happening to real people with real lives, and doesn't hold back because of personal bitterness anymore (and I so love how he comes through at the end). That's a very interesting observation! *_*

**nods.** I can understand that to an extent, as I absolutely love his arrogant moments in the original. XD; I totally fangirl over his Japanese voice actor in general. I wish he'd been in more stuff.

I have a hard time believing Autor wouldn't have read the Story Drosselmeyer made Fakir write, so I have a ficlit where he does that after Fakir leaves. And seeing how Drosselmeyer was tormenting Ahiru (and basically trying to commit murder by leading her into the lake, or so it would look) is what causes him to sober up there.

(I've also been interested in how Fakir is going to punch Autor out right before he leaves, but then seems to blink and come back to himself and lets Autor go. He could just be thinking that he can't waste time like that, but I like to think maybe he also knew that Autor didn't mean any harm and just plain didn't know or understand what was really going on.)
