The Wait

Growing up he could always see change in the things around him. Nothing ever really stayed the same. At first he was frightened, not knowing what to expect. As time passed on he learned and grew used to change. Now the young man has entered a new period of change. A period with many different emotions and thoughts, choices and actions, lessons and consequences. Each affecting the other, naturally.

As a brand new experience ends for the young man, he gains certain knowledge on how things go in life. How anything can determine how everything is going to end. He has learned that not all things are what they are and that not everyone is who they seem to be. We are after all, alone in the end, right? You can never be entirely sure of what the person you think you can trust will do. The young man learns the hard way, as many do in life, that people can be very two faced. He also knows that he is capable of the same thing. No one is perfect.

Something new is sparking within the young man. A silent and still blooming feeling that has yet to be born. It is no doubt a feeling that can alter the course of the future. It is a good feeling but only good if he knows how to handle it. The young man is happy now but careful of what lies around the corner. This world has its dark parts as well as it’s bright ones. The brightest feeling of all is love. Love for ones family, friends and oneself. But the Love that tends to change oneself is one that impacts the hardest of all Loves. The young man knows that this Love is extreme and yet simple. Everything he has ever dreamed of is right there. But if he remains ignorant he will surely fall and will not regain the strength to move on. He cannot dwell on something that lies far away. For now that is.

So the young man takes a look at his reflection and sees not only himself, but everything around him. His Dreams, his Family, his Friends, his Memories, his entire Life. He smiles at how things to this day have somehow been worth it all. All the pain, blood, sweat and tears. It has all been worth it. And the fact that there is still a lot more to come makes him anxious to taste the flavor of a new beginning. But he has to wait in order for that new beginning to open its door. There is one final chapter left to be written in this volume of life. It is hard to endure but the reward in the end will be all worth the wait.
