The Story of the Sirens is Revealed on VD! (My 8x04 Thoughts)
If you haven't heard, I got a tumblr account so many gifs I used here, I had reblogged them onto my tumblr since I have no clue how to make one!
Alright so here is a jotted recap of the episode with my initial thoughts included throughout and after the episode. I do it this way because my memory sucks when it comes to recalling things that don't revolve around my OTP for the series.

Synopsis: A SUPERNATURAL ORIGIN STORY - Tasked with finding a mysterious artifact, Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) latest mission takes him to Texas where a violent run-in with Peter Maxwell (guest star Joel Gretsch) leads to a surprising revelation. Meanwhile, after gaining the upper hand in their fight to save Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Alaric (Matt Davis) team up and uncover the origins of the mysterious force they’re up against. Finally, Matt (Zach Roerig) returns to the fray after his past and present collide in an unexpected way. Candice King (Caroline) also stars.

- Older girl starts a story (Arcadius) about a man named Cade (the first psychic)
- Cade had great empathy
- Cade's power cost him his life
- When trying to help, the villagers turned against Cade (in fear of his power)
- Villagers stoned Cade before they burned him at the stake
- Young girl wanted a happy story
- Older girl tells her sister that Cade had his revenge as all wicked men would be punished for their evil deeds
- Older sister promises that they will get their revenge too one day
- Sisters are on a remote island
TITLE CARD
Armory / Boarding House
- Stefan wakes up at the Boarding House
- Caroline calls Stefan
- Caroline spent the night with Bonnie (who is trying to starve no humanity Enzo)
- Alaric walks in
- Stefan tells Caroline that he's going to work with Alaric that day with Sybil
- Caroline worries about Sybil's control
- Stefan will use the tuning fork to stop the mind control (as long as it rings)
- Stefan & Caroline exchange "I love yous"
- Call ends
- Stefan and Alaric get started
- Georgie interrupts with coffee
- Alaric is stunned as he told Georgie to take the day off
- Georgie notices that Stefan has the tuning fork
- "Got a girl tied up in the basement?" -Georgie
- Alaric & Stefan tense up and look at each other
- Georgie laughs it off before leaving
- Alaric sighs
- "I can only deal with one temptress at a time." -Alaric
- OH! Does that imply some interest in her?!
- Stefan and Alaric get to work
WEBCLIP #1 -- Garage
- Damon gets out of his car
- Damon gets the attention of a welder that works at the garage
- "Hey! Earth to planet redneck!" -Damon
- Damon is looking for Peter Maxwell
- Welder just works for Peter (who owns the garage)
- Welder introduces himself as Lou
- "I'm just the hired help. Name's Lou, what can I do for you?" -Welder
- "I really need to talk to Pete." -Damon
- Lou tells Damon that Peter should be back soon
- Lou wonders what brought Damon out to their location
- "It's hard to say." -Damon
- Damon brings up his complicated mission from Sybil
- "There is a woman, and I use that term loosely, her name's Sybil, who wants to. Suffice to say, here I am." -Damon
- "Sounds like that gal is screwing with your head." -Lou
- "Oh you have no idea." -Damon
- "You'd be surprised. I've been married five times." -Lou
- "I take that back, you do get me Lou." -Damon
- Damon admits that even though Sybil is "gone", he finds himself doing things that Sybil wants
- Damon admits that he may kill for her
- Lou tenses up
- Damon compels Lou to tell him his worst moment
- Lou admits to killing one of his wives
- Damon is disappointed
- Damon pours gasoline over Lou
- Damon tells Lou to get back to work
- Lou sets himelf on fire
- Damon walks away
Armory
- Stefan & Alaric deal with Sybil
- Stefan uses the tuning fork to disorient Sybil (stop her mind-control)
- Alaric wants to know why the tuning fork affects his twins
- Sybil is amused that Alaric doesn't know everything about her
- Stefan wants to know why Damon is still under Sybil's control
- Sybil had reworked Damon's subconscious
- "If Damon is still serving me then deep down, he still wants to." -Sybil
- Sybil tells a story
- A young villager was cast out of her village when she started showing signs of psychic abilities
- Young villager found herself washed up on an island
- Young villager (Young Girl in starting flashback) met the Island Girl (Older Girl in flashback)
- Both girls bonded in their psychic ability...sisters in every way but blood
- "My sister would do anything for me." -Sybil
- "Will do? As in present tense?" -Stefan
- "Oh, did I forget to mention that there was two of us? Me in here and her out there." -Sybil

Armory
- Alaric uses the tuning fork again
- Sybil groans in pain
- "It is complete overkill." -Sybil
- Alaric wonders why there are two sirens
- Sybil brings up all legends mentioning "Sirens"
- Alaric brings out other legend facts
- Stefan wants the siren sister's name
- Sybil tells Stefan to be patient

- Georgie breaks into Alaric's home
- Alarm system goes off
- Georgie searches for Alaric's things until she finds an old journal
- Seline walks in
- "Oh, it's the intern." -Seline
- "Oh, the nanny." -Georgie
- Seline wonders why Georgie is there
- Georgie lies about retrieving a book for Alaric
- Seline doesn't believe Georgie
- Seline brings up that she's gotta call Alaric
- Georgie tries to stop her from making that call
- "Okay, calling Ric." -Seline
- "I really wouldn't do that if I were you." -Georgie
Gas Station
- Peter Maxwell (Lou's boss) rushes in
- Peter tries to save Lou
- Damon interrupts
- Damon wonders if Peter knows Sybil
- Peter never heard of her before
- "Then again, you could be lying to me." -Damon
- Damon compels Peter
- Peter never heard of Sybil
- Damon is disappointed
- Damon only knows that he is looking for a Peter Maxwell heirloom
- Damon only knows that once he sees it, he'll know that's what Sybil needs
- Peter brings up some things his mother left for him when she died recently
- Damon wants Peter to call his son (who was looking for the heirlooms)
Armory
- Alaric gets a call from Seline...he walks off to take it
- Sybil comments on the name to Stefan
- Stefan wants answers
- Sybil continues the story
- Two Sirens suffer from hunger
- Ship is seen nearby
- Sirens use their psychic ability to call the ship for help
- Older Sister knew the ship will crash as it grows closer
- Sybil brings up the familiarity of the story (sirens luring sailors to their death by their song)
- Younger Sister mourns the dead sailors
- Older sister gathers the provisions that washed up the shores
- Younger Sister doesn't agree
- "This way is easier...and more fun." -Older Sister
- Sybil tells Stefan that their stories are the same; one sibling wanting to be good, the other reveling in evil
- "Our story is your story, Stefan. Now's the test, which girl are you?" -Sybil
Gas Station
- Damon plays with the pinball machine
- Peter tries to find the heirloom (since he's compelled to look for it)
- Damon notices the watch Peter is wearing
- Peter's son gave him the watch
- Damon wants to see it
- Damon touches the watch only to be burned...vervain
- "You're on vervain." -Damon
- Peter is confused
- Damon is furious
- Damon stabs Peter for lying to him
- Damon gets shot from behind
- Damon sees Matt Donovan with the gun
- "Donovan." -Damon
- Matt shoots Damon again
- Matt looks to Peter (his father)
- "Dad!" -Matt
- SHOCKER! I wasn't expecting that!
COMMERICAL
Gas Station
- Matt rushes to Peter's side
- Matt tends to Peter's wound
- "You'll be fine if you do exactly as I say." -Matt
- Matt takes Damon's arm and feeds Damon's blood to Peter
- Peter reluctantly agrees
- Peter gets healed by Damon's blood immediately
- Peter is confused by the fast healing
- Matt apologizes but he needs to know about why Damon is there
- Matt tracked down Peter a few months ago
- Matt will explain everything if Peter leaves in the car
- Matt wants Peter to leave before Damon wakes up
- "He's not dead." -Matt
Armory
- Alaric gets a call from Seline about Georgie breaking in and stealing a book
- Alaric sees movement in the hallway
- Alaric ends the call
- Alaric grabs a weapon and calls out to Georgie
- Alaric ends up in the vault
- Georgie locks Alaric inside the Vault as she apologizes to him
Armory
- Stefan doesn't see a parallel with Sybil
- Stefan had nothing to do with Sybil's earlier imprisonment
- Sybil reveals that the younger siren lost her faith in God when he didn't provide food on the island
- Older Siren had to hunt for the boar to provide them food
- Stefan doesn't believe that there was boar but the sailors she lured in
- Sybil agrees and reveals that there was no food from those ships...only the sailors
- Sirens ate the meat of the dead sailors...becoming cannibals
- "So an innocent girl became a monster." -Sybil
- Sybil tells Stefan to decide which siren he relates to
- Stefan tells Sybil that he and Damon have forgiven each other for their pasts
- Sybil tells Stefan that he has too much faith in Damon
- Sybil has more faith in her sister
- Georgie vervains Stefan from behind
- Georgie grabs the tuning fork
- Sybil smirks at Georgie
- So Georgie is the sister? I didn't see that one coming!
- So which of the sirens is Sybil? The innocent or the island original island girl?
COMMERICAL
Forest
- Stefan wakes up in the woods
- Sybil greets Stefan
- "Hey sailor." -Sybil
- Sybil admits that they are inside Stefan's head but with Sybil's memories
- "Your silly fork stopped ringing." -Sybil
- Stefan wonders if this is it now...if she'll mind-control him now or kill him
- Sybil reveals that the Boss wants Stefan to hear the whole story
- Sybil takes Stefan to the cave where the sailor bodies were found
- Sybil reveals that she found the bodies
- Stefan realizes that Sybil is the village girl (the innocent one)
- "You're not the girl from the island, are you?" -Stefan
- Sybil breaks a little
- "I tried so hard to be good." -Sybil
- Stefan doesn't believe Sybil
Gas Station
- Damon is tied to a chair as he wakes up
- Matt wonders why Damon attacked his dad
- "In my defense, I didn't know he was your dad." -Damon
- Matt doesn't care about Damon's drama...he just wants to know why his dad
- Damon brings up Tyler
- Matt pauses
- Damon catches Matt up
- Damon has no humanity left
- Damon isn't with Elena anymore (his altered memories shouldn't have him say this)
- Damon attacked Tyler and left him for dead on the border
- Matt becomes furious
Vault
- Alaric tries to find his way out of the Vault
- Alaric can't lose his hearing
- Alaric starts a video diary about his theories and final moments
- "PS, I believe Georgie is the second Siren." -Alaric
- Alaric damages his hearing to give himself a chance to escape
- Yikes...hopefully vampire hearing can heal his hearing afterwards
Stefan's Mind / Flashback
- Sybil complains about her mortification about learning her sister's actions
- Stefan wants the sister's name
- Older Siren comes in with more bones
- Stefan is horrified to see that it's Seline
- "Stefan, you've met my sister...Seline." -Sybil
- Now that seems more like it
Home
- Seline tucks the twins into bed
- I'm worried for those twins
- Seline gets a call from Georgie
- Georgie reports about locking Alaric inside the Vault
- Georgie doesn't understand why she did it
- Seline gives orders for Georgie to meet on the side of the road
- Twins want a story
- Seline begins the tale of Arcadius
- Now what does Seline want with the twins?
- So if we're to believe Sybil, then Seline started the canniblism on the island
COMMERICAL
Gas Station
- Damon wakes up again
- Damon is alone
- Damon notices the shelves
- "I guess it's time for Plan B." -Damon
- Damon rolls the chair over to the shelf
- Damon knocks the shelf until it lands on him
- "Bad news...Plan B always sucks." -Damon
- Damon spots the heirloom
- Heirloom looks like a ball with a symbol on it
- "Sybil is gonna be very happy to see you." -Damon
- That looks like a shot put ball
Stefan's Mind
- Stefan can't believe that Seline is the second siren
- Sybil erases Stefan's memory of Seline's identity
Armory
- Stefan wakes up on the ground with the tuning fork beside him
- Stefan doesn't remember the identity of the second siren
- Stefan wonders why Sybil is still inside the cell
- Sybil wants one answer...which girl is Stefan
- "Who are you in the story?" -Sybil
- Stefan refuses to answer
- Sybil draws comparisons
- Stefan is Sybil (Innocent) when he tried to fight and hide the evil within him
- Stefan is Seline (Islander) when he forced Damon to turn into a vampire
- Sybil declares that it's important for Stefan to answer that question
- "Who are you?" -Sybil
- "I'm both." -Stefan
- "I was wrong Stefan, you are worthy." -Sybil
- I was actually surprised by his answer too
- Sybil tells Stefan the rest of the truth
- Sybil revealed that she threw herself off the cliff the moment she learned the truth about Seline
- Sybil prayed in her final moments
- Seline rushed to Sybil as she begged for anyone to help them
- Cade answered with an offer
- Seline agreed to do anything to save Sybil
Armory
- Sybil tells Stefan the terms of Seline's deal with Cade
- Seline bartered beauty, youth and immortality for her and Sybil in exchange for servitude
- The sirens feed on the flesh of humans to retain their beauty, youth and immorality
- Cade gets to feed on the souls of the evil while in Hell
- Stefan is skeptical about Hell being an actual place
- Sybil tells Stefan that if he wants to free Damon, then you have to kill Cade (the Devil)
- "All you have to do is kill the Devil." -Sybil
- I'm stunned...I thought Cade was just a story that Seline had made up to tell Sybil
COMMERICAL
Armory
- Stefan doesn't believe in the notion of Hell or the Devil
- "I don't believe you." -Stefan
- "Which part? We covered a lot of ground." -Sybil
- Sybil tells Stefan about Cade's final moments
- Cade damned his killers as he saw them for the monsters they truly are
- Cade sent a psychic blast in his final moments that sent those villagers to damnation
- Sybil tells Stefan that Cade is waiting for him
- Stefan tells Sybil to stop making this about him
- Sybil tells Stefan that his past sins can never be washed away
- Stefan admits that while he can't wash that away, Damon doesn't deserve it
- Stefan blames himself for Damon's fate
- Stefan offers himself to be damned, not Damon
- Sybil tells Stefan that she showed Damon a sliver of what Hell is and it caused him to turn his humanity off
- "He chose to serve Cade for all eternity." -Sybil
- "Damon believes in Hell and soon, so will you, because you're just as doomed as him." -Sybil
Streets
- Alaric crawls out of a sewer grate to the town square
- Alaric hears ringing in his ears
Road
- Matt explains everything to Peter about the supernatural world
- Peter wonders how Damon couldn't compel him
- Matt brings up vervain in the watch
- Peter remembers the vervain reminder that Matt's great grandma used to say before tea
- Pater apologizes to Matt for leaving
- Matt thinks they all should have left Mystic Falls when they had the chance
- Matt pulls up to the car
- Peter offers to look into the trunk instead
- Matt has to do it
- Matt looks in the trunk
- Tyler is dead
- Matt breaks down
- Peter holds Matt tight
- No!!! Tyler!! If only you were still a hybrid! =(
Road
- Seline sings the siren song as she approaches Georgie
- Seline wonders where her sister is
- Georgie tried to get to Sybil out but she had a message instead
- "She doesn't need your help." -Georgie
- Seline isn't pleased
- Seline kills Georgie for Cade
- Georgie wakes up with a start
- Georgie sees Seline feeding off of her body
- Georgie is pulled back into nothing
- "What's happening to me?! No!" -Georgie
- Seline truly is a cannibal...I fear for the twins
