Summer is drawing to a close. I've been looking forward to this part of the year since I arrived in May. Less distractions that can be a financial drain (Shambhala, PAX) and some form of enjoyable routine. The rugby pre-season starts this week. I'll be down at the club on Thursday to see who is still around from '06.
I'm also really looking forward to Sickle and have been since summer began. I want the dampness. The clouds. The rain. The strange food. The no network coverage. Friends in a cabin close to nowhere. Just the simple necessities.
Being less busy, and comparing my rugby team here to my team back in Dublin, I will soon start to miss home. But I will also soon have my flights booked for a trip in January. It could seem a bit much, traveling to Europe at least once a year, but it's worth it.
My dad misses me quite a bit. The feeling is mutual.
