"Is it you I want, or just the notion of, a heart to wrap around so I can find my way around?"
I hate politics. I hate the fact that no matter who we vote for our choices are between two politicians. A politician is something that should never exist, someone who lives off from the power they hold over others. The greatest leaders are those that don't wish to lead, that's not a a movie gimmick, that's the real deal. America started and went for years being led. We voted and elected leaders. George Washington was a leader, not a policitian. By the time someone is qualified to be elected president (35 years old) they have been so tainted by our dirty politics that they are half of what they claim to be at best. We end up voting for the lesser of the two evils, rather than the person who is most able to lead our country. I think we are all sick of all of the commercials and propoganda that only exist to smear dirt all over the opposition. Both sides take part in it, while claiming that they will not stoop as low as the other.
A few words for the upcoming election.
1. (demoocrats and haters of Bush) George W. Bush is not stupid. That is something that the democrats continue to perpetuate. I assure you it is not true, and he may in fact play it up. He is just short of a genius as all things go. People thinking of him as stupid only underestimates him, and that is to his advantage. That is media slander, you can't buy into it if you wish to overthrow him in the coming election.
2. (Republicans and supports of Bush) George W. Bush is not fucking perfect. He is not a pure souled Christian and he is not the shining beacon of goodness. He is a politician. Just the other day my father got angry at him for allowing the UN to monitor our elections vote counting. Sorry folks, he made a politically brilliant move, now no one can bitch about the vote counting if he wins. Get it? HE IS A POLITICIAN, he makes politically smart moves that go against things that he has previously said. All Presidents that go both terms are guilty. Clinton was notorious for this as was the former Bush. All modern policially driven presidents are.
3. The previous statement is true also for Kerry. Most people are voting for him, not because they know anything about him, but because he is pointedly NOT Bush. Do a bit of research and you'll find dirt enough on Kerry, just as you will for Bush.
4. I hate politics, they represent the downward spiral we are all taking. It's becoming inevitable. Either we change our political system or we all drown. Have fun.
5. And a few words on Michael Moore as this will certainly be brought up, he is great at bringing up the other side, unforteanatly he does it by manipulating the truth. Much of what he says is only partially true, or blantantly wrong. I watched Farenheit 9/11 and many things that he said were just his opinions that had no basis on factuality. I'm neither a Bush supporter nor a Kerry supporter. Neither Republican nor Democrat, Conservative nor Liberal. Once offiliating myself with one side or the other certain things are expected. Republicans are supposed to fall at the feet of the mighty, yet compasionate Bush, and Democrats are supposed to hate him. Don't believe it because Moore says it, do your own full-scale investigation before making your mind up, or you are just looking at part of the facts, never a good strategy.
If this starts a debate, please keep it clean and friendly. No one is going to change anyone else's view point.
