Lot had already learned that white men were not to be trusted, and this one was the palest one he'd ever seen, like his skin was made of porcelain. His lips and his eyes were the colour of blood; his hair and the giant wings that sprouted from his back were like onyx.

Well, in the case of Lot, I'm not entirely sure what his backstory is yet here. He has angel blood, which stains his eyes red, which made him stand out. His family is also poor.

As for Lumiel, I was mostly having him fit the prompt, and trying to give him a sense of terrible beauty.
