Evolution of a character
In my head, Lionel is changing a little.
Not anything major, like his personality, though I shifted his hobby from running to playing soccer (because soccer, goddammit), but minor things -- like how he speaks to different people. How he speaks to cops, to authority figures he respects, to authority figures he doesn't respect, to his mother, to his friends, to Gabrielle, to people who try to tell him he'll never find her.
It makes for interesting thoughts.
On a related note, remind me to look up race relations in the Midwest. I'm more familiar with the Southern end of things.
