One of the local malls is on fire. As we speak, I mean. It's mostly contained now, but there's a lot of smoke and water damage.
My brother works at that mall.
He's okay -- he was at school when the fire was set* and the mall was completely evacuated by 1030 this morning. Nobody's been hurt.
They can't go inside the mall -- there's a potential incendiary device inside, and they don't want to risk the firefighters.
They're estimating tens of millions of dollars in damage due to the damages.
This is going to have a huge effect on the local economy, y'all.

*Yes, set. The arsonist has been caught and has been hauled off to the police department as of several hours ago. Arsonist is possibly bipolar and lost his job in August. They're looking at his Facebook page now.
EDIT: My brother is not as worried as I am. I do not think he quite grasps the damage to the mall. Yes, dude, I know it's the biggest cash cow in the area, but the fire is still going. It keeps finding more fuel and the firefighters can't go in. Part of the roof COLLAPSED. You are not going to be working in the next week.
