(no subject)
I have achieved FIRST CONTACT! As of 3 (or so) days ago, I am able to give Sylvester chin scratches. Today he accepted petting on the top of his head and down his body to his tail. At first only while he ate treats. Now he's allowing it at any time. Still have to approach slowly and don't startle him. He's using a lot of the house now, but only cruising not settling down, except for under the wood stove. I wonder if he's claiming that space in anticipation of winter! He likes to watch Tim shower.
So smoky it's like having low clouds, and so the temperatures are moderated. I find myself doing house painting again, the oil based type, so today I have a migraine from hell. There is more to do there, because the homeowner did not get more paint after our last trip, so I get another day of messing with the stuff (doing trim on the bridge over the water feature, doing the gazebo, and so contorting into all sorts of spaces and almost dropping my glasses in the water) and then another day of migraine after that. Tim has four days off and now most of it's taken up with that job. I should be writing an article for Monday, and my head hurts too much to concentrate. Or on reviews. I slept awhile on the sofa. I don't normally nap.
Haven't gotten any further on the great sorting and putting away. Discovered that having a dozen small containers, none of them the same type, means a hell of a time trying to find the right lids for them. They all *look* like they should fit, but are a half an inch off.... and the containers all seem to have cats in them. Which could be part of the reason why the lids don't fit...
