Mini-con achieved!

Found this morning that wearing the belt with the stays had left bruises on me, so this morning I put it on loose and safety pinned it together, figuring I'd just have to keep my jacket on to hide that. It worked. The event was sparsely attended (it's in a hard to find spot-go into an area behind other stuff and make several turns on really narrow little roads, but an awesome little modern school building with a lot of indoor commons area, which I think is awesome for the kids) but a few people in costume. Got a number of complements. Discovered that there is no way to keep a top hat on this big ass wig- fell off every time I bent over even slightly.

Because of the sparse attendance, the panels were very interactive! I went into the cosplay 201 and there was no one there except the panel people, so I sat down and we just talked about costuming stuff. One is the costume designer for some theater either in Spokane or CdA, and had some books that showed the patterns for making historical costumes, mostly ancient and middle ages. Learned how to use wooly nylon. Learned why the tissue lame went to shit when I touched it with a steam iron.

I was airship crew, with assorted stuff dangling from my belt. Was warm but okay (I took a lace fan) in the building, but just about died on the way home because the car was so hot- I couldnt' have the drivers window down or it would have ruined the wig!
