It was (mostly) sunny this morning (and now) after a night of rain, so I decided that today was the day to go to the pioneer cemetery- and, of course, the Friends of Felines thrift store (Note to R. they have a new storefront; no kitties with fleas in the retail venue). Here is the cemetery:

The cherry trees- there is a colonnade of them along the center- are all in full bloom, as are the apples(?). Some trees are still bare- oaks? but the lawn is lush and green and there are lilacs in bud but not *quite* ready to open- no lilac scent for me today- and there are tons of daffodils. There are wonderful gravestones, many over 100 years old. Some I couldn't read, but most were still clear and sharp. Sadly, I managed to pick a time right when the lawn crew was working, with a couple of riding mowers and a few hand ones, so it was quite noisy. On the other hand, the freshly cut grass smelled wonderful!

I got a almost across the place when I realized my blood sugar was low. I started shoveling chocolate in my mouth, but it kept going down. I was having trouble walking, and my vision started doing the freaky thing where it flickers and jerks. And I'm thinking, how goth stereotype can I be, dropping dead in a cemetery? Thankfully it finally started to come back up, but of course the dreaded migraine came along with it. But that didn't stop me from visiting the thrift store; found three great blouses. One is a white cotton with embroidery all over the front; little cross stitches. It has sort of cap sleeves and looks 50-ish or 40-ish. One is white cotton with lace and embroidery and looks like a 1900 shirtwaist, high collar and all! And the other is (of course) black cotton with long sleeves and embroidery that looks like it could be persuaded to work in a Victorian costume. They are in the washing machine right now.

I was going to do sewing things this afternoon but I'm not sure my head will let me. We shall see. I may just end up on the porch reading.

fucking diabetes, travel, migraine
