I liiivee
So... I suck at finding time to keep this journal up to date. But, by the time I've got through my PhD work, trudged through housework, and clung by the fingernails to the vestiges of something vaguely approximating a social life, I'm usually so exhausted I can't type straight. Dad (and then Mum) falling bed-ridden ill with a horrid flu has made things more tiring than usual, drastically increasing my household duties for about a month (until their immune systems kicked flu butt). Amazingly, I've not fallen ill with it myself. Wow.
Uni wise, since the last update, things have been a joyous whirl of PhD and associated things - I always feel behind and scrabbling to get my uni work done, but so far everything has made it past the finishing line in time. Fingers crossed I can keep it up.
Gaming wise, since the last update I've played about another five hours of Prototype (and loving every minute!), made plans to unravel the Technic Pack in Minecraft and play a multiplayer Spite-House game with Snarfie next week end, and yearned for time to properly play Dawnguard. I'm gonna take a day off early next month for it, damn it! (also, need to level up my new character, Redacta, in preparation). I have also discovered and quite enjoyed the works of Lazy Game Reviews, nice bits of light entertainment when I'm too tired for anything else.
Music wise, ADKJDSGKJGBfgolnfd the copy of Edge of Dawn's latest album "Anything that gets you through the night" finally arrived. Ye gods it is perfection in auditory form.
Travel wise, I'll be going to Perth for the Australian Psychology Society convention late next month. I've had the basics (airfares, hotel, registration) booked and ready for months, but soon shall have to turn my attention to the finer points of the itinerary (like which sessions to attend, and what to do with the non-conference time).
Langley is, of course, still utterly gorgeous.
My art output is down, but not out, largely due to sporadic (probably unwise) super late night draw-fests. Most recently, over two nights I drew these three pictures for a local anime convention's art competition (which I had a lovely time at with Cloudy, props to her for finding out it was on and asking me to come along). NightingGALE netted me first prize (a nice sketchbook and some ink), hooray!
