Is been a long time since I update my apocalypse challenge, mostly because I just didn't have the time and when I did I got distrated playing, making or posting other stuff...
Gabriel Anderson never thought that someone would consider him old. He had done quite a lot with live, but certanly not enough to join the frail and elderly.
He had a young son and an even younger daughter to take care off. He could just go and retire, the world they lived in. That simply wasn't and option.
And even if it was, he wasn't sure it was one he wanted to take.
He still had lots to teach his kids about work and responsabilities.
And probably hygiene.
Jade had change jobs once more and now was an educator. Her reasoning was that either she took it upon herself to teach or the new generation would stay illiterate.
The little Andersons grew healthy and happy.
They didn't really know much about the world beyond those walls that keep them safe, it was always a quick walk to school and ven quicker walk home.
That lack of knowledge about the outside didn't stop Thomas from wanting to be... well he wasn't exactly sure but he knew he wanted to make i big. Beside school was over an college was just some fancy word for the place his parents met what he considere was eons ago.
The city was still mostly abandon buildings and broken down shacks. The Company had spend a lot of money on a publicity campaing where they pledge to help the town recover but the sad thruth was that all that money went to tv spots and 3D simulations about how wonderful the place was going to be.
At least Carrie-Anne had made a friend.
Gabriel had decided to write his memories, before he really got old and started messing up facts and faces, he figured that maybe her could even get the story about what had happen in his hometown to the world. Gather attention. After all he had a little bit of fame having been the one to bring back warm and tasty food to the place.
Once his fur became gray he really started to feel old.
But you are never to old for some things.
Concern about Thomas future Gabriel try to teach him the ways of the pack.
After all he wasn't certain if his "condition" could be inhered my his kids.
Thomas would spend hours playing chess evertime his uncle came to visit.
While Carrie-Anne love to pick up the phone in the rare occacions it rang and the call actually connected.
Jade was a bit concern about her son future there weren't really any available jobs around, and the few that were didn't want a teenager without high school studies to perform it.
Also the fact that Tomas became a bit wild at nights didn't help his case.
Death eventually came for their beloved pets. They had live long productive lives.
Carrie-Anne was soon a young teen eager to know about the world. Pey'j would tell long exciting stories about what their hometown use to be and all the stuff she never got to know.
The spark between Gabriel and Jade was still bright. He found her as beutifull an atractive as the day they met, so long ago at college. Their life had not been particuraly easy, not since the incident but their love had grown beyond those nights in the computer lab.
As mother Jade tries to place boundories and guide her children, which was not always easy.
Gabriel loved to cook for his family, if there was something he was proud off was leaving a well feed household. Cooking had been his live.
And nothing was more satifying than gathering his family for one of the few but wonderfull pleasures that this broken up world still allowed. One that he had gone to great leanghs to make available.
After finishing up the meal he felt a tuck on his gut, he declare his love one last time to the woman of his dreams, of his life... and thank her for everything.
And then followed death.
