Pointless
I recived a Russian bootleg CD in the mail yesterday, eight of my albums and a 12” on one CD in mp3 format.
Flattering in a way, and it’s great that people want this stuff, but as mp3’s ?? - I wish they’d care more about sound quality.
I’m back to thinking I should just give up and move on.
With downloading, burning and pirating rampant I’m taking a real hit.
Then when I do get some decent sales, the distributors either fold or simply don’t pay, so it’s getting pointless.
It should self-evident that I’m not doing it for the money, but I still need to survive and fund the next release. Fuck Metallica and those major label assholes, it’s us little guys that are taking a real hit with burning and I have no idea how to overcome it.
I’m ambivalent about the future of music as a whole, and the current music industry definitely needs to be shot down, but on a personal level this shit hits where it hurts most.
Fuck it.
On a positive note, I think I’ve got rid of those stupid LJ smiley icons.
