To Anybody That Reads This
I'm copying my 2010/2009 entry from my friend Stef...so, here it goes...
January
Was a rough month and wasn't scheduled a lot at work. I went on and off with depression because I didn't know what to do with myself. On the plus side, I got to go to a theme park with my new boyfriend, Brandon, for the first time and celebrate my first Christmas with him. I also ran a 5k in 30 minutes. Go me! And in TV, Battlestar Galactica and Lost began. I was a very lucky nerd.
February
Met a Yellow Shoes photographer at a Carrie Underwood photo shoot that I assisted with. Helped ring in the month by being apart of the American Idol Press Event. I was right next to Ryan Seacrest. It was pretty cool. Tried to make up for January by contacting photographers recommended by Yellow Shoes and shot a couple of weddings. Celebrated my first Valentines Day with Brandon and his birthday. I finished the month by helping with ESPN weekend and being a body guard with Jill.
March
Worked...worked...worked. I finally got hours and they never ceased! I also started planning my Eurotrip with Jill. I found out that I made it to Round 2 at FSU Film Grad. I took a road trip with my mom to Tallahassee and had an interview with their department. They loved me. I actually made them laugh! And continued in TV, Battlestar Galactica concluded, leaving me very sad.
April
Hurt my knee on the job and was sent to Modified Duty where I strained my knee more due to partaking in difficult and sometimes messy tasks. It was a personal hell and I had many HR moments. I was pretty depressed and decided to apply to jobs outside of Disney. On the plus side, I got to coordinate Grad Night. It was pretty amazing :0) I found out I got into FSU and after much deliberation, I denied their acceptance.
May
Knee was still injured and I was still on Modified Duty; however, I still went to Europe! I had a great time with my best friend and Alex, Caroline, and Derrick. I can't believe I went and I wouldn't take any moment back. I woke up on my birthday in Pompeii. How cool is that?! I also met Brandon's family and they were just as I expected. A hoot! Was NOT accepted into UCLA or USC.
June
Star Wars Weekends! I met David Proust and he complimented me on the amazing job I was doing. I met lots of interesting and pretty crazy fans and shot lots of Jedi Training Academy shows. It was a blast! Unfortunately, I found out I was capped and could no longer pick up hours at work. I started wondering whether declining FSU was the right choice. Tara Laine and I began a photography business.
July
Found out I was accepted as a Full Time cast member in Photo Pass and was transferred to Magic Kingdom. During my first week, I caught the Swine Flu and was seriously depressed. A friendship deteriorated into casual pleasantries and I began looking for new lodgings.
August
Moved into the apartment at Champions Gate with John, Sandi, and Zach. I began loving my job and interview for a Coordinator position. Was accepted into the Cast Choir Christmas Show!
September
Was offered a temporary coordinator role until further notice. I have a real job! Had a mini break with Brandon for 2 weeks only to have it strengthen our relationship into what it is now. Rehearsals, Rehearsals, Rehearsals! Received health insurance and vacation pay! I also bought a new car after rear ending my boyfriend's car.
October
Became situated with my new role and learned all the tricks of the trade. Coordinated the Not-So-Scary parties and had a nice evening watching a scary movie with Brandon in our matching scrubs. Volunteered for Give Kids the World for the first Time
November
Had my first vacation with Bran and celebrated our 1 year anniversary. Our relationship was rocky at first, but once we figured out what we wanted, we were able to work through it. We stayed at the Portofino and hopped around Universal. I conquered my fear of the Jurassic Park ride and Dudley Do Right. Our sex life also improved drastically, even though it was never bad (quite the opposite)..it just became more abundant :0) Had Thanksgiving with Bran, my mom, and Tim. Also had my first roommate fight and on a happier note, my two good friends got engaged and I was able to be apart of it!
December
SHOWS! LOTS OF SHOWS! Met John O' Hurley, Abigail Breslin, and Edward James Olmos. Mr. Olmos is the nicest man alive and I had the best Christmas Eve of my life. I got to sing on stage with Admiral Adama! What is better than that? I also started working 6 days a week (scheduled) and have since become unfocused. I am still not on my game and I hope no one has noticed. I desperately need a day off. My New Years was spent with my new PS3 (thanks to Bran!) and Planet Earth. I was very content to fall asleep by 10pm.
Hopes for the New Year
1. Become statused full time in my role.
2. Have a fabulous time at Mardi Gras
3. Go on a cruise or go to Georgia with Bran to visit his family
4. Apply to graduate school in management
5. Start my project in resorts and change Photopass for the better. NETWORK..NETWORK..NETWORK.
6. Exercise!
7. No more fast food
8. Have Jill move back up :0)
Overall 2009 had it's ups and downs, but I consider myself a lucky girl. I became more independent and learned a lot about myself. I'm not afraid to be alone anymore and I also understand my limitations. I've grown a lot since becoming coordinator and no matter what happens, I hope to take these lessons with me wherever I may go. I don't know what's next, but I've found that everything happens for a reason and it will always turn out for the best. I see big things for 2010 and I'm excited for them!
