YFC Spain Report
So, me and two friends arrive at Barcelona on the 28 and just to see were the venue was from our hostel, on the next day we walked 2km to Razzmatazz. When we got there there was already people waiting so we decided to go back and prepare for spending the night there. The next day was fine until some guys decided to cut the line saying that a friend of theirs was there to safe them the spot (all lies) after that was solved and they went to the back of the line we only had to wait for the band to arrive.
They arrived at 4/4:30pm. YOU was the first one out and when everyone screamed for him he started jumping, Chacha and Shinya were next and Chacha jumped too when we called for them and Shinya just gave a shy smile, a wave of the hand and toke a picture of us from his cell phone. Then it was U:zo who just waved followed by Takumi who also just smiled and waved. Then it was Jon's time, because there were a LOT of haters in the front most of his walk from the bus to the venue's door was silent, but me and my friends followed by other Jon supporters started screaming for him and he smiled a big smile and waved. Then finally it was GACKT, has expected everyone erupted in screams and yells, he stopped at the bottom of the stairs leading to the venue door, waved at the far side of the barriers where a few fans were seeing them, then we turned back to us and sent us a kiss.
Now we just thought that all we had to do was wait patiently for the doors to open and all of us enter and enjoy the show. WRONG!!! Suddenly it started to downpour with thunders in the mix. Everyone stood against the wall of the building beneath a sort of balcony to see if it could give us an extra protection besides our umbrellas. It didn't do jack shit we still got totally wet and when finally the security let us go up the stairs to get some real protection from the rain we were all wet from head to toes (thank you very much security team from Razzmatazz =_=#) it started to rain hail (Just our luck -_-'). And that's when all hell broke lose, a rumor popped up that the room was flooded and that the concert was going to be in Razzmatazz 2 (that was around the block), so as you can imagine it was everyone running to the other door when we are informed that it was a lie and the show would still bee held in Razz 1, and then the girls that spent 4 days at the door wanted the line back again as it was, so they asked the security guy for help in doing that because everyone was glue to the door and noone wanted to move so they could be the first ones in, the security guy said yeah, okay do the line again and told her to make the line on the other door of the building, near the ticket office that at 6pm wasn't even opened yet, and told everyone else to do the line where we were before, I thought that weird, seeing everything that the guy was doing from the line and the ticket office waiting for it to open to get my tickets, so I went to him and asked why there were 2 lines and he told me that the line near the ticket office was just a fake line that it wouldn't matter to be there cause they weren't going to let them in. So I told my friends that and to go to the other line that had already go around the block. They didn't move from that line, but I guess the girls in the front continued to pester the security guy and finally he told them to get in that line as they were in the other line.
Finally I get our tickets and went back to join them in the line, that's when the sun started to appear again. Okay, now all we have to do is wait calmly to the open of the doors. WRONG AGAIN!!! 15 minutes (or something like that) after I joined my friends at the line, some other guy from the security team goes through the line passing several sheets of paper around that said that the instruments had been rained on during the storm and they were in the process of drying them so the doors would probably open later then scheduled and if it started to rain again there would be the possibility of the show being canceled.
So after that some guys from the venue staff started to pass water bottles around so we take them and started saving them for when we are inside. WRONG AGAIN!!! When the doors are finally opened the security team tells us that we had to throw the bottles away (WTH, they were the ones who gave them to us, now we can't even go inside with them, we didn't need them outside, we had just been rained down upon, we WOULD need them inside =_=#).
So finally I'm inside the venue in the third row right in the middle of it and I look in front of me to the barrier and I was "eye to eye" with it. Now I'm 5'4" and with a 4" platforms I stood at 5'8" and still that thing was taller than me, I look at the stage and I couldn't see the drums, not even the end of GACKT and Jon's platform, first thing that came to my mind was I'm f**ked if they go near the drums I won't see a thing.
So then the secretary started speaking the same thing that was said last year, we shouted osu and then the show starts. Can't remember exactly the order they enters seeing that in the end I was only able to see GACKT, Jon, YOU, Chacha and Takumi's head now and again. I'll talked about the problems at the end.
The first song was the new single, as it's already been told here, and I just loved the song. And when GACKT started to rub himself on Jon I just died there and then =P
Then they sang Nine Spiral and Speed Master, then it was a new song where it was something to do with a phone call or something like that. When they started to do the choreography I couldn't stop myself from laughing (never thought I would see GACKT doing that type of choreography, he and Jon looked like a boys band =P) and from copying the moves, the worst thing I saw there was that the girls in the first row that had already went to Paris to see them weren't even trying to do the choreography (it's furistuke for god sakes you're suppose to imitate what they are doing!!!), I didn't had much space to do it but I did try my best.
The next one was one of the new ones too, if I'm not mistaken and it was when they took their shirts of. Well, GACKT doesn't have the same body as last year, he isn't so defined, but he's hot none the less =P, and Jon, omg what a body!!!
After that they sang Episode 0, I really like this version better then the normal one, followed by Mind Forest in english. Then it was time for Vanilla.
When I heard the first accords I became exhilarated, the rest of the people around me just knew what music it was when Jon started singing Aishite. I really missed that choreography ^^, I just loved to finally be able to see that song live, unfortunately Chacha didn't do the choreography like he used to do, but it's okay. An I just drooled allover when GACKT and Jon started to, sort of, grind together. Then it were two new song, being the last one the "Show Your Heart" one. Me and my friends made the <3 sign throughout the song. And by the end of it I had tears in my eyes because how beautiful it was.
Then they were gone and after a couple of minutes they were back for the encore with Uncontrol. And when everything was over You stayed behind a little bit to push for us a little bit more.
U:zo had two bass solos that were just great, specially the one of one of the new songs, and him and Takumi came upfront twice or three times. And every guitar was on the platform dancing with Gackt and Jon on the final part of Vanilla. Jon rubbed himself on Chacha. They all interacted very much with the audience. GACKT looked at me between the first two songs (^v^), my friends that were in front of Chacha touched GACKT leg, when he put his foot on the barrier, I could have done the same when he did the same thing for the people in the middle but that just weirded me outcause I saw some girls literally massaging his leg =$, so I tried to touch his hand and I almost made it but missed it =(, oh well, next year =P. Jon and GACKT were having fun wetting the crowd with the water bottles, specially Jon. There was a time when GACKT went behind Shinya and took one drum stick and started drumming while singing (had to ask what had happened to my friends because I couldn't see a thing). YOU took off the tie when Jon and GACKT took off their shirts but he only came shirtless for the encore. GACKT promised to come back again next year. He also almost fell backwards, from all his efforts, but Jon very subtly put his hand on GACKT's shoulder to help him stay upright and when they left the stage Jon put his arm around GACKT's shoulders.
When the show was over I went to buy the merch I wanted and the bitch who was behind the counter messed my t-shirt's order and that's why I'm with the problem of having 2 tank tops instead of t-shirts and of size S instead of XL, and payed them has t-shirts. And I wasn't the only one to have problems with that bitch, a guy that we knew also asked for a t-shirt and payed for a t-shirt and she gave him a tank top and when he went there to asked them to change because she had given him the wrong thing she made him pay another extra 5€ because the tank top is cheaper then the t-shirt. And you're probably thinking why didn't I checked my things when she gave them to me, well the thing is, after I asked the t-shirts I asked for more things and she threw the shirts on top of the counter in front of me with the size sticker down, so I was pissed off at her for that attitude.
Now, the down points of this show: Beside the flooding of the venue and the non helping staff, they had feedback problems throughout the whole concert, and on the first music when GACKT started to sing you couldn't hear anything, and he gave the guys at the sound table a killing look (I wouldn't want to be in their shoes =P); the height of the stage and therefore the barrier, that wouldn't let you see the whole band if you stayed, at least, in the first 5 rows.
And yes there was a lot of Jon haters, specially the ones that already had seen YFC in Paris, and when GACKT made fanservice with Jon they made gag gestures, I just wanted to slap them upside the head for how childish they were being.
But other than these things the concert was just the best one I've ever went to, it topped the one from last year by far. GACKT and Jon are so good together, in every aspect of it =P. I think I've got a new favorite pairing =P
