And there was said guest, knocking at the cottage door with one hand while the other held a bottle of wine. All right, so Lana had more than enough wine already but still. Good manners dictated he bring at least something.
"If nothing else, think of it as adding to the collection," he said with a grin as he walked inside. "Was going to bring pizza, but then I figured I'd just pay for it if we decide to go that route for dinner."
"You think of everything," she said, closing the door behind him and following him in. "What makes you think I'd let you pay, though? I did invite you."
"Yes, but I was raised to treat a woman right," Sean countered. "And that includes not automatically assuming she's covering everything even if she did invite me over. Always make the offer, even if she declines."
Lana smiled at him. "I knew there was a reason I liked you," she teased and took the wine to put it with the other bottles. "Oh, unless - do you want a glass?"
"Nah, not right now," he said with a shake of his head. "We'll save it for if we end up with a really crap movie or something and need to erase the memory of having ever watched it."
He went to peruse the selection she'd put out. "I'm thinking this one," he said after a few moments, holding up a movie. "Or this one." Held up another. "Either one's good by me."
He smiled a little at the kiss. Casual affection wasn't something he was used to nowadays, not that he minded it. And at any rate, casual affection like that with Lana just seemed right. She was just a naturally caring, affectionate person.
He settled in on the couch and reached for the popcorn. "This is the closest thing to a social life I've had in ages," he said. "I should thank you for that."
She smiled as she put the kettle on. "You're very welcome. It's nice having one myself. Dean and Meg are pretty good about checking in on me, but despite their best efforts I kind of always feel like they're checking in on me."

She had a ton set out, very few of them more than slightly chick-flicky.

Lana held one in each hand behind her back. "Which hand?" she asked with a grin.

"I was thinking I might make a little hot chocolate if you want some. Or I have tea, coffee, beer, water..."

It was true. The whole kitchen/living/dining room was still one fairly small room so she was only a few steps away at any time.
