On things of late
Thanksgiving is past and so is the hunt. I was successfull again this year with a buck on opening morning. The oddest thing was in the way it all happened. The past years it was so fast. As soon as I saw the deer, choose my shot, it was over. This year I saw the deer, choose my shot, and nothing happened. I just watched the deer and in my mind, I asked myself, "Why haven't you pulled the trigger yet? All you have to do is pull the trigger." And so I did. It was the oddest thing, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why I hesitated. I went over it again and again, reviewed it and analyzed it from all different directions, and come up with nothing. Aside from that, the holiday went well. Spent some time with family and friends, good food and drink. It was nice to see those bonds alive and well and growing stronger.
