New ponies at the Equine Rescue League in Lucketts, VA (near Leesburg) - cross posted on 'equestrian' but photos are different!
We have 2 boys (William and Rocky) and two girls (Feather and Seraphena). William is an older red dun, blind in one eye but it doesn't bother him. We have already started calling him "Sweet William" because you won't find a sweeter boy! He is still a stallion, but will be gelded before being adopted out. He has beautiful dun markings. Rocky is three years old, and wants to be friends but is a little nervous about sudden moves. He was "discplined" by getting hit in the face with his feed bucket, so he's a little confused about feed time right now! Feather is a little grey mare and is super friendly! She just really wants to get in your pocket and go everywhere with you! Sera is Rocky's mom, and started off really really nervous about being around people - she wouldn't even take an offered treat, which is very un-Shetland Pony of her! She is almost completely over it though, and came right up to me and nuzzled my hand looking for cookies last time I went out (about a week ago).
All the ponies have the tell-tale marks on their faces of wearing halter that were too small. Sera needs to put on some weight, and they all need to be worked with to improve their ground manners (as they were fairly unhandled). But they all promise to be lovely little ponies and pets!
