[screened from Ebola, Anthrax, Shirley and Jonatton] Abandon hope all ye who enter

Mar 09, 2010 22:12

Good evening. I hope this electronic missive finds all well and contented.

I myself am neither well nor contented, I fear. I can only apologise once again for my protracted absence; I went to ground somewhat, the reason for which also accounts for the unfortunate filter upon this entry.

My dear housemate Ebola has recently parted ways with her long distance love and I must confess that I find it a rather daunting prospect to offer comfort of any real substance to people in those sort of situations, therefore I may have been avoiding the issue slightly. And I may possibly have been avoiding Ebola slightly as a side effect :-( Add to that the tragic seperation of Anthrax and her charming husband, so recently wedded as they were... I really am lost for words. So I've been spending a lot of free time in Abney Park, in silent contemplation. I must say, I had no idea I had so much company in this habit - a great many single gentlemen frequent the cemetery for constitutional strolls of an evening but although they seem quite friendly to one another, myself they tend to regard oddly and pass me by very quickly. I presume they sense my internal turmoil.

Aside from this, I have been keeping tolerably well, yet have become plagued by strange dreams: as much as they disturb me, I have started to rather anticipate their nightly visitation.

My own long-distance amour remains... long distance, also understandably preoccupied with attending to her dear cousin. It seems I am once again disappointed in love, alas.

I really didn't realise that having friends was this difficult. The dead are so much easier to understand. Although, the living are admittedly better at Who Wants to be a Millionaire the Board Game.

dreams, glum, abney park, jonatton, ebola, one that got away, anthrax, they all leave in the end
