Whelp, I got my College acceptance letter yesterday for Massage Therapy. It's a three year program and to remain registered in Ontario afterwards you have to do continuing education. Now I have to get my GED and work out an expense plan to show the bank since I most likely can't get government loans

There's an old quotation, from the nineteen-twenties or thereabouts, that is read to all students who enrol at the college I went to: "Høgskolen gjør dere til studerende, vi i Samfundet gjør dere til studenter. Den som blott er det ene uten å være det andre blir ingen mann. Han kan i høyden drive til professor." In English "The college makes you studiers, we in the [Student's] Society make you students. He who merely is the one without being the other will never be a man. He can at most manage to become a professor." (The Student's Society is a kind of welfare organisation for the students, by the students. As a result, much of the welfare consists of beer and parties.)
