Got the results of our January exams today. I passed Psychology, Biology and Applied Science all with C's. Failed Math with an E but since I dropped it yonks ago it doesn't actually matter.
Ashley got D's in all three subjects but since we'd heard a rumour our entire Biology and Science classes had gotten U's except for Matthew we were pretty relieved.
Hanna was rewriting her CV today so I decided to join her (Hate writing CVs!!!) and we're gonna go hand them out all over the place in hope of finding paid employment. As a back up we're gonna look for volunteer work in one of the many charity shops on the high street so that we can bulk out our CVs next time round.
Psychology kinda sucked today. We've moved on to individual differences and so are studying OCD, cue a lot of jokes (i.e. I don't have OCD. I have CDO, it's like OCD but with the letters in alphabetical order.) We watched a video of a documentary from a few years back following three sufferers of OCD going about a new course of treatment. One washed her hands because of anxiety about germs, one wouldn't touch anyone or anything with wearing gloves or wrapping her hands with tissue because she was afraid of dirt, grit and glitter. The last man had anxiety that he would confess to a crime he hadn't commited so he wouldn't use pens or paper and was constantly checking he hadn't written anything.
The video was fine but people kept laughing whenever Ms. Cantrill was out of the room and it really started to piss me off. They were saying things like "She's scared of glitter, how sad can you get?" I don't think they understand that people with OCD know their actions are odd but it's the anxiety and compulsion that affects their actions. I don't like it when people make fun of people's disorders because they're ignorant about them.
I'm thinking of dyeing my hair platinum blonde or maybe ginger. Not sure, I just want to do something with it or else I'll get bored and end up cutting it short all over again.
