As if I didn't need more reason to feed into my aversion of medical assistance here in the US, I find this:
Doctors May Be Third Leading Cause of Death The article admits that even if the numbers are a little overblown, there is still a wide margin from what they found and the fourth leading cause of death in the US (cerebrovascular disease). Also, I'm not sure if I agree with how good they rate the health of the American people in general, average of 4th best when it comes to non-smoking? Fifth best when it comes to alcohol consumption? Low consumption of animal fats? The American populace, from my observation is way more unhealthy than that.
So, what can I take away from this? The current philosophy of health treatment in the US is bad and the AMA agrees.
Which reminds me... I still need to find a dentist and make an appointment, eep!
