Severus' next move...
Severus walked up the stairs from the room he intended to make his Potions laboratory and along the corridor that he was fairly sure led back to the foyer. As he did he contemplated what he wanted to do. Avoiding Dexter was certainly high on his list since he suspected neither of them were that eager to see each other right now, their confrontation still fresh in both of their minds.
His first thought was to set up his laboratory but he reluctantly let that go. He wanted to be calm when he did that since handling some potions ingredients when agitated could be a… volatile combination.
He also had no great desire to return to the bar. Although a drink might soothe his nerves, he had no desire right now to run into Dr House again. With his thoughts in a certain amount of turmoil, he would be easy pickings for that man’s incisive mind and there was also the possibility that he would run into Dexter since he’d met the man for the first time in the bar. So perhaps it might be wise to select someplace... more soothing.
He wandered along the corridor and was surprised to find himself not emerging into the foyer again but instead walking past a large door marked ‘Library’. He raised an eyebrow then firmly reminded himself of his earlier supposition that the Hotel was similar to the Room of Requirement. Obviously all roads did not necessarily lead to Rome in this place.
Severus opened the door and walked in his attention immediately caught by the grandeur of the room. Four levels of bookshelves with a wrought iron spiral staircase providing access to the upper levels were what caught the eye immediately. Severus took a deep breath, letting the familiar scent of many books filter through him. He felt himself relax a fraction as he started to peruse the books closest to him. They appeared to be mostly Muggle and as he kept examining the spines, he wondered if he would find any books of magical origin. Perhaps on the upper levels where the lazy would not venture. He kept perusing the titles of the books and he worked his way slowly towards the staircase.
