Sam's first trip to the hotel bar was less spectacular then he thought it would be, but clearly he was too accustom to greasy spoons and random city dives, or at the very least... places more like the Roadhouse... not this fancy excuse for a watering hole ( Read more... )

Alice had been spending more time in the bar lately. She liked the surroundings, and she didn't have to drink. More people seemed to visit the bar than any place else, which made logical sense.

She took her book with her, pushing the doors open to do a quick scan of the room.

"Sam?" Alice ran over to where he was at the bar, setting her book on the stool next to him. "Are you okay?"

"Hey Alice, I'm fine." He said sucking down his drink and getting another refill. Okay not exactly, but he'd done enough whining for the night.

"Of course you are. You smell like you've been fermenting along with the cactus." She wrinkled her nose and sat down next to him. "Promise me your next one will be water?"

"I promise." He said, although the bartender already refilled his glass so... "After this one."

Alice sighed loudly. "Tequila, please." She turned to Sam and held up the shot. "Nobody should be drunk alone. If you're drunk alone, that means you're a drunk. If you're drunk with friends, then you're just... enthusiastic."

She downed the shot, coughing and gasping afterward. "Jesus Christ, this is why I don't drink. That tastes like petrol, Sam."

Sam nodded lazily, like her logic made perfect sense, which right now, yeah it did. "I'm enthusiastic." He agreed raising his glass until he realized she was drinking with him, then, not so much with the enthusiasm.

"Wait.." He frowned. "Yeah I know it does." He said about the petrol taste although he wondered how she knew how petrol tasted. "Dad'll be mad if I got you drunk." He said. That wouldn't be good.

"Then you'll have to stop, won't you?" She took another shot, beaming, then coughing again.

"Seriously, Sam, no chaser? Something's got to be the matter."

"I'm just.." He sighed, a little over dramatically probably. "I'm worried about Dean is all." He said stopping her from taking her next shot and drank it instead, like that was some retarded high school logic. HAHA! I drank so you can't! kind of thing.

"Dean'll deal with things on his own time, Sam." She didn't even know what Sam was worried about with Dean, but she knew Dean's type. Heads like rocks - stuff took a while to get through.

When she saw Sam take her shot, her jaw dropped. "Hey! That was mine!" She reached out for Sam's shot, snatching it from the bartender's hand and downing it before he could protest. When she was done, she socked Sam in the arm.

"Ow!" Sam complained, but laughed and rubbed his arm. "I was trying not to let you be drunk!" Like it was a huge favor he was doing her.

"And I'm trying to get you to stop, because you know if I go upstairs and John sees me like this, he'll come yell at you! And I will too, because I don't think he'll wanna do it if I'm all... drunk. And stuff." Her head was starting to swim.

"Okay first of all... EW." Sam said. "And second of all I don't want him to yell at me cuz we're getting along." So maybe he needed to stop like she said. He scowled a little.

"Ah-ha! If you don't stop drinking, Sam Winchester, I swear to god I'll tell you what we did last night. And let me tell you, your father's kinkier than you think." She sat back smugly, and ordered them both water.

"Don't think you'll be able to walk upstairs, but think this'll keep you from barfing."

"Okay! AHHH!!" Sam complained, waving his arms a little to wave her off the subject. "Stop!" He said. "I'll drink your stupid water." But he wouldn't like it (although he'd probably thank her later for stopping him before he could get shitfaced.)

"Good. You just saved yourself a big ol' lecture on your father's preferred sexual positions." She took the glass of ice water between her palms and chugged.

Sam shook off an over dramatic shudder and downed some of his ice water. He'd take the water over that lecture any day.
