This, I blame completely and utterly on
cave_cat and
rainlightautumn , because of
this post, and a resulting msn conversation. Thus, the two of you are coming with me on this ride through the madness. Everyone else... will probably just think we're crazy. XD The ANTM reference I also entirely blame on
rainlightautumn . And Tyra Banks.
Title: Thriller, thriller night.
Rating: M
Warnings: Enough crack to get an elephant high. And zombies. And hysterical, mad women.
Pairings, Characters: Dark, Kitty, Rain, and many undead things. Also what we hope is Prowl, but probably isn’t because it sucks to be us.
Summary: Someone went to visit some friends, and then things went horribly wrong. And it wasn’t all the zombie’s fault.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Kitty or Rain, or any zombies. Just saying is all. Also, please don’t shoot me for this. I wasn’t in my right mind when it happened. *shifty eyes*
Completely unbeta’d. Girls... I apologise for you characterisations, I just tried to go with “oh frag, zombies!” for everyone.

“Right, okay, are we ready to... go...” Dark trailed off as she watched Rain emerge from the darkened shop front, cautiously picking her way over the shattered remains of the window that littered the pavement. “High heels??”
“Yeah!” Rain looked up brightly, pausing to model her new outfit and rifle, making quite sure to give the other girl a look that was, quite simply, fierce.
“How are you meant to run in those?” a third piped up, as she too, crawled out of the remains of the store.
“Dark only said stylish, not practical! And as we all know, do it with style...”
“Or don’t bother doing it,” the other two finished with satisfied nods.
“Speaking of doing it in style, if we’re gonna have a getaway vehicle, where better to find one?” Kitty pointed over the way to a car dealership, the metal bodies shining under the crackling lights.
“Sounds good,” Dark nodded. “Onwards!”
*
“Okay, was that plate number an E, or a T?” Kitty called back.
“T! Just think transformer!” Rain responded, glancing outside once more. The dealership, just like the rest of the city, was decidedly empty, but glass was breakable (especially to a trio of women with an assortment of guns and bludgeoning items) and alarms meant nothing in the otherwise silent place. In fact, they would have welcomed a security force arriving to prevent their looting, but until it actually happened, they were going to continue as planned.
Or, as close to those plans as they could. Much to their disappointment, they had realised that no matter how much they wanted to, the three of them would never fit in a Jazz, especially with their provisions, light though they may be. In the end, it was decided that if they couldn’t have Jazz, then they were taking Prowl, and had finally found a suitable Charger, although a short discussion had broken out over his colouring. Black, it was argued, was less visible than white, and yes, Prowl did have some black on him, so it would be fine.
Which lead them to searching for the key, as none of them wished to deal with attempting to hotwire a car. Besides, Kitty pointed out, hotwiring a Prowl seemed rather ironic.
“Did you actually get anything to shoot them with?” Rain queried Dark curiously, glancing her up and down.
“No, gods, I’d probably manage to shoot myself instead. But, I picked up this,” she hefted an axe in both hands, having to brace herself a little with the weight. “Besides, you know, when the ammo runs out, and it always eventually, inevitably runs out.”
“Okay, okay,” Kitty called out, triumphantly picking out a keyring. “I got i-“ she was cut off by the sounds of moans, causing all three girls to squeak and turn around. Rain and Dark drew together, while Kitty, lacking a friend with whom to take shelter, shrank back against the wall.
“That’s... not good,” Rain murmured to Dark, who merely shook her head.
“Prowl, get to the Prowl!” Kitty decided, gathering up her things and rushing past the two frozen women to the car lot. They continued to pause just long enough to glance at each other and then follow after her.
They did not make it very far, however. From around the corner of the dealership lurched the very thing they were fleeing from - the moaning, shuffling hordes of undead that had come to suddenly populate the city. Or, repopulate it, depending on how you looked at it.
All three of them pulled back with a resounding shriek, turning about to flee in the other direction. Or, they would have, had Rain not tripped over her own self-admitted non-practical shoes and sprawled to the ground, managing to take Kitty with her.
“Come on, up, get up!” Dark shrieked back at them, turning just enough to consider going back. Zombies began to pile over them as Kitty got to her feet, scrabbling for the keys as she did, and a rather sickening shick! was heard as Rain kicked out, stabbing one of the creatures through its eye socket with her pointy heel. A helpful tug from Kitty had her foot freed, and the two of them brushed past the grasping hands and broke free into the cars, racing past the still-laden Dark towards their chosen getaway.
“Hurry UP!” Kitty screamed back, pulling the door closed behind her and already scrabbling for the ignition, as the other two piled into the car, sprawling themselves over the seats, barely able to hang on as the first girl floored it.
Only once they were watching the horde grow smaller in the mirrors did any of them relax, Dark flopping over the backseat, and Rain sinking into the passenger, curling her legs up to her body.
“Way too close,” Rain shook her head. “And now we’re down half the things we looted.”
“Could be worse,” Kitty shrugged, turning to her, “We could be, AUGH!”
The two passengers swore as the Charger swerved suddenly, throwing Rain against the dash, and Dark off the seat and onto the floor.
“What?” Rain was looking about frantically, half expecting to see an undead attached to their hood. To her utter surprise, Kitty was shying away from her.
“Have you been bitten?!”
“What??” she responded in confusion, echoed by a rather less-confused and more-panicked Dark, who was very suddenly brandishing the axe a little too close for comfort.
“Woah! I wasn’t bitten, what the hell?”
“Blood!” Kitty insisted, trying to drive and keep away from her, and point at her knee all at the same time. “There!”
Rain looked down, brushing a hand over the scrape on her knee with a nervous laugh. “Oh. Nah, that was just from when I hit the floor. They didn’t touch me. Not close. Really.” She glanced at the blade near her head. “Really!”
“I didn’t see her get bitten,” Dark amended, finally lowering the axe back to the floor. Kitty nodded shakily, glancing about at the empty roads as they went, the car falling back into relative silence.
Dark flopped back in the seat. “Next time we visit each other, you guys come to me.”
