Good times with friends We spent a lot more time than usual with some of our friends last week and it was friggen fantastic. We killed so many zombies and aliens, rocked so many board games and even got snowed in at someone's house. We also had memorable moments in the car, such as me saying 'They're probably going to get condoms for their threesome later' as if it wasn't at all out of the ordinary and people dying from hysterics immediately after. I missed why it was so funny, as is so often the case when one is as matter of fact as I tend to be. It was good to reconnect and rediscover and start making tentative plans for things to come.
Shooting Zombies in their headpieces
This game is fucking awesome. You all realise that I just admitted to liking a shooter, correct? If you're one of those confused people I'll fill you in.. I loathe shooters. Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty? They blow. I'll play old school shooters like Doom on very rare occasions, but other than that, shooters as a whole can lick my taint. Left 4 Dead? I leave you out of that grouping, because you are immaculate and awesome, despite the Xbox 360 having counter intuitive controls. (You're so much better on the PC, but all of my friends have Xbox, you need to understand that despite loving you, I need to follow the horde.. um herd on this one.)
So, I usually don't get the most kills, because hubby hogs them all. And I hardly ever do the most damage on the witch, which is probably due largely to the fact that I disturb her way less than everyone else. But! I get a good deal of headshots in and that's what counts. I can take a zombie down in one shot if I hit him in his (or her) headpiece with the shotgun. 3 or 4 if I shoot them in the chest. Even the specials go down easily if you give 'em a shot to the cranium. That's right Hunter, I'm looking at you.
Motivation
I'm still off to a good start to my 101 goals in 1001 days challenge. This week I continued with the things I started last week as well as started on my fitness goals. When I got on the Wii Fit (I don't own a scale) and weighed in I was disheartened because I've managed to gain a pound since my pre-Christmas weigh in. Then I realised I had eaten a bacon cheese burger not even an hour beforehand and felt way better. I've been working on some basic cardio, yoga, and simple weight training to start trimming down. I'm starting with 20 minutes segments after work everyday and will eventually work my way up to 30 - 45 minutes regimens. I'm pleased that I've managed to talk myself into this as it is and don't want to scare myself off. On top of all this, I found a really good tutorial on coptic stitch binding, so I'll be working on my first ever bound book this weekend.
